🏖 HELLO FORKERS ☀️ July ‘23 🍦🍦🍦

Hello all … it’s July already ☀️ 🍦
time to sit in the shade and enjoy the fruits of our labours … well, that’s the theory any way .., in reality there’s still the weeding and watering and deadheading and tieing in to do … as well as getting things ready for autumn sowings and planting, looking at the catalogues, choosing spring bulbs for autumn planting …

But here we have a place for all to collapse on a soft sofa or swing from a hammock in the shade and share a bit of time with friends old and new, chatting about this and that … celebrating the good stuff and commiserating and holding hands about the bad stuff … the kettle’s on, there’s some cake to hand around  (and some ice cream in the freezer)
so find a comfy spot and say hello
… everyone’s welcome here …

    Morning all.  🐇

It has rained again. The butts were already full.

We are going to look at some village gardens open today.

Keep knitting @Pat E … Tge exercise will keep your fingers from freezing 😉

We got up early here  yawn son left here about 45 mins ago … somehow his boss had managed to book himself to be at the office to hand over a splitter-bus to a new client this morning, when he and colleagues are in Spa Belgium working at a Motorsport event!

Son said he could do it … but their office/depot is an hour+ away … so we got him up at 6:45 … creamed his grafts and put the pressure-wear on, helped him get dressed, gave him coffee and his meds and he left here at 7:15 … he said that’s how his life used to be and now he’s beginning to feel like him
Now I’ll finish my coffee, shower and put some mascara on … Wonky and her Lovely Hub will be here later to move the bed upstairs and I need to go to the farm shop first …

    Good morning all!

July 1st here too!!  We've had an hour of it before you in Blighty and @Pat E has had 8!!  We're well into summer - well - I had to get up at 3.30am this morning to get a light cover for the bed.  I was cold!!  Glad of this cooler weather.  Could do without the wind though.

Luncheon today here.  Doing Gaspacho with fromage frais verrines/basil.  Salade Niçoise and Thai Mussels.  Melon - nicely chilled for dessert.  Rosé in the fridge.

Slept in so need to get moving.

I hope everyone has a enjoyable day.  Oh!  There's a rainbow beautifully formed in the distance!!  (for all the animals to cross safely today).
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

    Good morning.
I'm in my fort. Some days that's all there is for it.
    Enjoy your garden.

Hope you’ve got a moat and a drawbridge @plant pauper … any barrels of boiling oil?

Well, I’m back from the farm shop and son is back from facilitating the entertainment world. Shopping has been put away and son is sitting in the garden with a coffee. I’m having mine on the sofa.

And, hot off the press … I think we’ll be having home grown courgettes with our roast pork and apple sauce tomorrow 😆

cool and windy today. I need to finish building a raised bed but it's not calling me to be out there. I might do some admin instead and see if the sun comes out this afternoon

    Morning Forkers,

and welcome to July: birthday and anniversary month for me. 😊
so glad your son got it done @Dovefromabove! Going back to almost normal, that's good news.
It has rained overnight here, so I am happy. Big free concert tonight in town, I hope the rain holds back for them.

I had a friend in tears this morning because of the rudeness of a car mechanic. This is the 5th time martens eat the cables of her car, so as well as the damage she had to deal with a horrid person.

I so agree @Hostafan1. Especially on the bus fgs!! If I get a call while on public transport I keep it quiet and short. I had one of those on the bus back from the dentist. Why do you want the world to know your affairs? Admittedly it was in Chinese 🤣🤣, but still.

I will show OH your photo @Pat E. He likes that sort of thing and so do I when someone else has put in the effort. 😉

Hope you all have a good day.

    Good morning all,
the start of another new month already. I can’t believe the speed at which the year is passing. OH has been retired a year, goodness, that’s flown by.
just sitting down with a coffee. A banana cake is in the oven - we had a couple of very ripe bananas that needed using up. The smell coming from the oven is lovely.
Our plans to trim the hedges has been put on hold as it’s rather breezy out there. 🤞that it will be less breezy in the morning.
