Commiserations with all of you who have had a trying weekend. Wet and windy here yesterday. Our neighbour had a tree fall on the roof of her extension in the early hours. We didn’t hear a thing, she thought she’d been woken by thunder. Just roof tiles to be replaced fortunately. Tree men have been to remove the bits, and roofer coming today, so that’s good. Poor Punkdoc, I do feel for you, I find sleeping on my back almost impossible. Annoyingly, my left hip is giving me pain and I can’t lie on it, my preferred position. Struggle to sleep on my right, and have ended up most nights on my front! Gives me a stiff neck but I haven’t suffocated yet!
@punkdoc, dont know if it is any help but when, for various reasons, I had to sleep on my back for nearly three months, I found a half sitting position very helpful. Plus a thin pillow placed either side of my head so that I could turn my head and relax sideways as required. It is always the head that causes trouble when trying to sleep on ones back with just one or two normal pillows.
Sorry you had such a bad journey @Busy-Lizzie, never did like the 21 for travelling south. Fingers crossed for a smooth crossing tomorrow.
We are getting plenty of rain and wind here, barely time to get a coat on for doing anything outside and down it pours again.
Good morning all. We're having a July/November combination of weather today so that's nice. @Busy-Lizzie I have watched people driving up a farm lane and into a field marked 'Private property' whilst watching their sat nav instead of looking out of the window. By that time they have driven past the front of the house they are looking for! I despair! I've had a call from the bottom of a great big hill six miles away saying that 'the sat nav has lost signal and we are lost'. My answer? Look out the window to your left. There's a sign 3ft x 2ft with an arrow. Follow that arrow. 🤨 If there was sat nav in either of our cars there would also be homicide! 🤣 November seems to be waning and hopefully July will be back in a minute. I'll be in my shed. 😍
Morning all, It's very strange the varying instructions given on which position to sleep after a hip operation. I had no instructions from my surgeon afterwards and only from the physio who said I should sleep with a pillow between my legs, I have to say the most comfortable position was on my back but I couldn't sleep! Just making a vat of cucumber soup. Sunny and hot today and I haven't watered the pots! OH woke himself and me up in the night with a loud shout/scream, apparently he was having a dream about a large dog that was chasing him - he's not a lover of big dogs, needless to say I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards. I feel a siesta coming on after lunch.
Usually the Sat Nav works very well, it just doesn't know about road closures. It was really OH's instructions, or lack of, when he said he knew the way, that drove me nuts. He also has a habit of falling asleep when he's supposed to be navigating!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
My nurse has gone out for an hour, to do essentials. I have been up, washed, done exercises and walked up and down stairs, so now back in bed. Apparently I have been a good patient so far, little does she know what I have planned.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Very very hot after a tour of the markets and a coffee in the promenade (square) this morning. Half a dozen oysters, and some bbq sausage with salad for lunch. Inside games now, all shuttered in from the blistering heat!!!
No games of strip poker now @punkdoc. Good patient or not!!
