2 things I have noticed ( sorry if they are unseemly )

I can’t sit down on the toilet, we have bought a raised seat.
I need a stool to be able to have a shower.

3rd. thing. I know a lot about pain relief drugs, but theory is nothing like reality, I am only just starting to get control.

They say that until you experience something for yourself like pain @punkdoc you don't know what it's like! So true!Ā
I found I didn't need a raised toilet seat but I did buy a stool for the shower. when you finish your shower put the stool outside of it so that you can sit and dry yourself at your leisure - you will then need a rest!

Afternoon all, the hospital gave us a raised toilet seat for OH which he found a great help. They didn't want it back and told us to keep it for the next hip hop! We also put a dining room chair by the side to help him get up.Ā

@Busy-Lizzie, we had a similar situation this morning. I'd checked the route online to the church for my friend's funeral, the church didn't have a postcode and it eventually took us to the wrong church in the wrong village about 3 miles away with 7 mins left to get there. I only had a vague idea of where I was going, none of the these tiny white roads had any signposts and we kept meeting tractors! We made it with 2 mins spare, standing room only but because I had my stick with me, somebody very kindly gave up their seat for me. Lovely, quiet, traditional and thankfully short service. We opted not to go to the wake as I got tired but instead stopped at a pub called the Rattlebones Inn for a light lunch. Very nice. Brother has met his family in Bath for grandson's graduation, lots of waiting round, photographs and speeches and has come back for a rest before meeting them again for a celebratory dinner at a very post new Japanese restaurant. We're not going but hope to see them all tomorrow.

Punkdoc, I remember a midwife who had recently had her first baby telling me how much the reality had differed from the theory!
As a student, I was being taught how to give a dental injection. Our instructor asked if any of us had never had one before. We all had, apart from one student from Africa, who had a perfect set of teeth, unlike the rest of us ( this was the early 70s) He was promptly ā€˜volunteered’ by the instructor to act as the subject for the demonstration! He didn’t enjoy it, but said it was helpful!

The hospital gave us a raised loo seat too and a high chair to sit on in front of the washbasin that you could lean back on for a hair wash. They even offered a stool for the shower but we had already bought one.Ā

We had a lovely lunch with my cousin.

Now a proper good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
I hope @punkdoc managed to settle and get some sleep …

Son drove himself to the Burns Outpatients Clinic at Broomfield. He has new pressure garments to wear on his arms to help keep the scarring flat. They’re so pleased with his progress. They say he’s the topic of much discussion in the department … they’re amazed at his courage and determination, and said if he’s finding things hard sometimes it’s because he’s doing so much more than is normally the case at this stage. He has an appointment with the consultant in August and doesn’t have to go to the clinic again until September!Ā

Today I’m taking OH to the hospital to have his toenail removed and the nailbed deadened. They don’t know what’s caused the problem but there’s something not right and this seems to be the only solution.Ā Ā This house seems to be turning into a convalescent home! perhaps I should get a nurse’s uniform šŸ˜‚ He’s been told it may be 6 weeks before it’s properly healed.Ā Ā
    Anyone here had it done?

    Good morning all.

Breakfast outside under the pergola as there is no wind this morning. Ā Just lovely. Ā In for some hottie days so may as well enjoy the outside while I can. Ā Mad dogs and Englishmen .......

A nurse's uniform @Dovefromabove Ā  You could be getting yourself in for something more than you bargained for ...... ;)

Tomatoes are taking a long time to ripen, the veggie garden is producing but maturation is slow. Ā Too hot say some. Ā Too hot, too quick. Ā Others who are very expert, have end of blossom rot big time with their tomatoes. Ā So far, my meagre crop is ok but flowers this year are sparse.

Pain @punkdoc Yes, have the same with my hip.  Much worse at night.  I have to have a cortisone injection of which, the first available appointment is 15th September.......yes suffer until then.  If it doesn't work, the surgeon will operate when he has a spot.  At least your pain has an end - not nigh - but it will subside.  Keep washing the tablets down with the rosé.  Works better!

I hope everyone has an enjoyable day. Ā  Can I have some rain please?
