I love the way music can affect ones mood - either sad or uplifting. Having lived through most of the 40's and onwards there are so many tunes and songs that I can remember for different stages, incidents, celebrations and anniversaries. Trouble starts when I remember a few lines from a song that my parents and I used to sing in the car when off on our yearly holiday during my childhood. I can sing a couple of lines and remember the whole tune but the rest of the words just refuse to come. Most frustrating coz I then get and earworm for the next few hours. (those interested the car was an old BSA three wheeler that would always run backwards if you got caught at traffic lights on a hill - made me terrified. We had to wait until the mid 50's to afford a nice modern A30 who's brakes always worked!)
Smashing pics of Beales' rose gardens @Busy-Lizzie, thanks for posting. It's such a shame we're so far away. Mottisfont is I think our nearest.
@AnnaB, I remember being terrified when our Dad's car, a Standard 10 with a tiny caravan on the back started slipping backwards on a steep hill with wet cobbles. The brakes wouldn't hold at the traffic lights at the top of the hill. Dad told us to get out of the car double quick.
Good Morning Forkers There's so much to catch up only after few days of absence. Internet here is patchy, I am visiting my 87 years' old mother in Italy. So not quite a holiday but it's nice to be here. For health reasons I haven't been in nearly two years. I am sorry to know that many of you are unwell, be strong. Reading your posts is looking at the richness of life, warts and all.
Hope you all have a nice Sunday.
PS hedges of jasmine are in bloom here. The scent is very strong.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Have a lovely visit @coccinella … which part of Italy if you don’t mind my asking. I only know the area around Florence and Pisa … and a marvellous short stay in Bellagio … gorgeous.
Oooh coffee has arrived 😃

I hope you all have a pleasant Sunday. Father's Day here in France.
No rain here either @Hostafan1 … the app says it’s drizzling here now … but it isn’t … but there is a wren singing loudly close by … 😊
