Morning all, we are waiting in for the TV man come and sort us out! We can no longer watch BBC with any reliability due to our position, I have said to OH if we need to cough after having our bad colds we need to go as far away as possible otherwise poor chap might run for the hills!! Overcast with storms forecast later as per usual. The fields all around are in a sorry state, grass not cut, crops gone over.
Morning everyone, we had some rain overnight, I even heard thunder at one point in the early hours. Very humid now, if the forecast is right it will dry up so I am hoping to go and sow some dwarf French beans, should be ideal conditions. One WB is full but the second is nowhere near, so we haven't had that much yet.
Dove, the only sport we watch is Cycling such as La Tour etc. however my Mothers brother, Ken Grieves, used to play cricket in Uk, years ago. So perhaps I should develop an interest in Cricket .
I spent my entire childhood at the cricket club @Pat E, (or so it feels, looking back) and we often had committee meetings at our house when my dad was the secretary - with we children banished from the front room for it. And cricket constantly on the television and radio. Do you get the picture - my dad was an avid fan! But I never developed an interest.
It's looking very much like it might rain outside. When I woke up it pretended that it had rained but nothing was wet.
Off for a meeting with another member of the team to make more plans for the Festival we are planning for this summer. She was performing at the First Light Festival this weekend but didn't manage to get to that to see her.
Ken Grieves is a name I seem to recall from my childhood @Pat E … Pa was a big cricket fan and, being a Ken himself, he took an interest in how other Kens were doing and would read out scores from the newspaper. 😊

Morning all. I'm still in bed after a blissful 11 hours of sleep. I had pains in the backs of my thighs yesterday and took paracetamol at 6 this morning. We've had rain. Hurrah
Following on from a very hot few days we've now got much welcome rain.
Charlie and I are shopping so a bit of a dodge between shops. We've also been looking at hotels and flights to Cavtat for the October holidays. I went with friends a few years ago, before Covid, and loved it. I want to explore further with Charlie, Dubrovnik was great, but I was with a group and we didn't have too much time there.
Meeting this afternoon with the bank again, regards funding the work needed to make the house energy efficient according to the government requirements. I do have a Plan B but I'll be very upset to let this house go. However, at this stage, any house will do. 🙄😓 Such a saga.
Two new staff seem to be working out ok, fingers crossed.
Right, another shower to dodge then we're off.
Good day to all, hope you're getting the lovely rain we have.

The ground is a different colour this morning, but no rainwater collected anywhere. We are promised more rain soon, and yet another thunderstorm warning - I think they’ve cried wolf once too often now, I’ll believe it only when I hear/see it. Very pleasing visit to the physio this morning. My aching hip and the referred pain in my thigh have been gradually improving on their own during the long wait for the appointment! The xrays showed no more than the wear and tear expected for someone of my age, and all the pulling about he did, demonstrated that I actually have very good movement in the joint. What a huge relief! He has shown me some exercises to follow and recommended Pilates. So very pleased. I was worried that I was heading for the waiting list for a hip replacement, but it looks like I’ve dodged that bullet for a while at least. Hope the bank meeting goes well, @D0rdogne_Damsel. I did end up listening to cricket on the radio, while awake for night time feeds with my daughter. Got quite hooked on it. Daughter didn’t grow up with an interest in cricket, although subsequent son did, and played for local clubs, school and uni. He was a summer baby so didn’t get the benefits of listening to cricket commentary from down under. Just watching a baby blue tit visiting the feeder with its parents.
Evening all, had to go into town yesterday for a haircut and clothes shopping, mainly for OH. Was so exhausted afterwards had to taxi back home which is not something I often do but absolute bliss in the circumstances.
We had (thankfully) heavy rain in the early hours then again just now so garden getting a good soak and it's a lot cooler. Haven't done much today apart from some washing, I don't know why but I just feel so tired all the time. Trying to do frequent arm exercises which are quite painful doesn't help.
Hope DD got a sensible answer from the Bank this afternoon, as she says, what a saga! If it were me, I'd be highly tempted to change banks and go elsewhere for the finance.
