Brilliant news about your son @floralies, as you say, we have some very strong young men around here right now.
Great news for you too @punkdoc, just relax and leave it all too your surgical team and I'm sure you will be fine.
We have had one or two decent showers round here the past couple of days or so but not nearly enough to do much good. Looks as though more is forecast for the weekend which would be wonderful, although I do feel a little guilty praying for rain when so many folks need the sunny weather for all their activities.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ The weather app says we have fog and that it will be dull and cloudy all day … 😵💫 … we have wall to wall blue sky and sunshine … scorchio!!!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
The news from the US Coastguard is so sad; yet more families have lost loved ones at that tragic spot … but I can’t help thinking that if we’ve ever searched for an illustration of the phrase ‘more money than sense’ it’s staring us in the face today 😢

I’ve been struggling a bit with the new iPad, but will try to read back soon. Not quite as cold as yesterday but still cold. I’m pleased that my birthday was the shortest day. Mum always said my birthday was on the shortest day, but of course I later learned that it changes some years.
Morning all, we have sun today hurrah! One of our neighbours has decided to let one of her rabbits run around the hamlet, another neighbour's cat was stalking it this morning, not sure what the outcome of that will be! I'm off for a Mammogram this morning ugh, see you all later.
Morning all overcast here this morning which makes it feel a little cooler. Wasn’t very pleasant through the night though, quite humid and warm so difficult for sleeping. Gave in and got up early. A fairly quiet day planned today, although plan on popping out for fish and chips at the local GC later. I like these “no cook” days 😅👍🏼.
Such good news @floralies. And hope it continues when you get your results from the mammogram. And for you too @punkdoc - fingers crossed you don't get delays.
Nice and sunny here - off to do a stewarding shift this afternoon at an exhibition - Highdays and Holidays - a display of photos and memorabilia at the local (redundant) church. These exhibitions are always so interesting - folk history.
I feel for the people who lost their lives in the submersible, of course I do. But couldn't help wondering why a few privileged billionaires gained so much more sympathy than the 500+ who lost their lives on the overcrowded fishing boat off the coast of Greece?

I couldn't agree more. Not only sympathy but the resources used to find / help them
