Good morning all!  Afternoon @Pat E

Early start in the cool.  Dog first then some weeding and tying up.

Today is:  Le jour de la Saint Prosper, auras du blé plus que de chaume.

@coccinella   I think it is like this now everywhere.  I have a couple of other clinics plus the hospital to contact tomorrow.  Not hopeful.  Photoshop?  The X-ray/scanner department!!

A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

    Morning Forkers

Coccinella freaked out this morning. Some of you may remember that I have insomnia, so at about 4am go to another bed to read. Then a dangling spider filled the space between my nose and the book. EEEKKK!  Only a leggy house one but fully developed: Ewww, no thanks!!
I put it out of the window with a spider catcher. Then the blackbird started singing, thanking me for breakfast I suppose. No more sleeping after that.

Lizzie27, where in East Sussex are you holidaying? I see it says you are going "up" to East Sussex,I didn't think we could be anymore further "down". In the UK.

    Good morning all  :) ☕️
    22C and bright and sunny.
    Oh dear @coccinella  … hope you can have a lazy day. 🛋 📚 🍹
Son didn’t sleep well last night either so today will be a quiet one in this house too while he tries to catch up.
And I’ll be watching tennis this afternoon … 🎾

    Morning all.

I woke a few times in the night but did fall back to sleep. Strange noises about 02:30 - probably a fox although maybe a barn owl?? I know they seem completely at odds but it was just ‘screechy’ and they both do that.

What time does the Queen’s final start @Dovefromabove? I will settle in the cool for that later 👍🏼

    Have a pleasant Sunday all.

My sis used to live on the Devon/Cornwall border and the trip was always  (to me) down to Devon and back up to Sussex......Anything to the west beyond Sussex (anything in Sussex is 'across/over to') is down to me and East is up - so up to Canterbury but across/over to Worthing. Strange eh?

There’s room in this sofa and I have some raspberries and local farm icecream if you’re interested?

    Morning all.

Yesterday we went to Westonbirt Arboretum. It gave us a good long walk under some magnificent trees. Good thing OH took his mobility scooter. I'll post some photos when we are home. It would have been beautiful with rhododendrons last month and it will be glorious in autumn.

We ate out in a Sri Lankan restaurant in Bristol last night.

We are going to a big GC today then going back to Norfolk this afternoon. Google maps says it will take 3hrs 33 mins. Hope they are right this time! Maybe Sunday will be different.

Britain is tipped over further than it looks to be on the weather map. Lizard point is almost a degree latitude further south than Beach Head. Everywhere is 'up' from Cornwall

Morning all. Looks like another very hot day.
@raisingirl, @Nanny Beach and @steveTu, I'm the same as raisingirl, everywhere is 'up' to me from Bath but my OH is a Londoner insists London is 'down' from here. We have agreed to differ. We're going to stay just outside of Rye in a converted Oasthouse which should be fun. Have stayed in East Sussex before and loved it. Lots of gardens and NT properties to visit. Just hope it might be a bit cooler than now as I'm not looking forward to such a long journey.

Glad you enjoyed Westonbirt @Busy-Lizzie, you can walk for miles around there. Hope you have a good journey home but I'll be surprised if you do it under four hours.

I give up on husbands sometimes. Mine went out at 10 pm last night and I thought he was watering the veggies. This morning I suggested we finish off a small project that needed to be done by Monday, before it got too hot. A bit reluctantly he collected the tools and we walked down to the start of the drive. The corner verge needed to be weeded, recut and tidied before Monday morning when our NDN is going to re-tarmac  both our front drives which forms a kind of lay-by. Lo and behold, my husband had already done it the night before! Why didn't he tell me? Goodness knows!
