@Lizzie27 I think DD tried several banks but this one offered the best deal. Maybe in the current financial climate they are regretting it.

We had rain this morning and more forecast for the afternoon but the sun came out. I was going to do HW and ironing but I changed my mind and did gardening.

We’ve woken this morning to minus 8. 😳. The ski resorts are clapping their hands. Good for business and apparently there are plenty of people keen to get their skis moving.

Since Wednesday is town day for us, we’ll be in there soon.Ā

    Hello Forkers

back home. I am very tired, especially mentally, but all is well really.
Hotter here than Italy, there should be thunderstorms today. The undergardener here has done a very good job of watering during my absence.

    It's a no brainer @Busy-Lizzie šŸ˜‚
    Glad you are better @Ergates
How did it go @D0rdogne_Damsel ?

    Have a good day all.

    Good morning Forkers!

Hot and humid and still no drops. Ā @floralies @Busy-Lizzie @D0rdogne_Damsel are getting drenched. Ā @Obelixx may have the day off today.

Banks aren't lending here at the moment. Ā To get into a rented property here you have to have about 20 documents to prove that you can pay the rent!! Ā  Difficult everywhere. Ā Inflation and prices are increasing at the rate of knots. Ā The shops and supermarkets are less busy in the last week of the month. Ā  I bid you well @D0rdogne_Damsel Ā with your bank approval!

Hard to believe it's hotter in Lux than in Italy @coccinella but you are really getting the heat up there in the norf. Ā Hot here as usual and warming up for summer.

@Pat E Ā who is freezing down thereĀ - NZ is having a cold winter too. Ā My sister in Wanaka says it's freezing and again the ski fields are rubbing their hands together with glee. Ā About time anyway, as the last few winters have been rather mild.

My patient is back in the fold of busy Montpellier. Ā Sirens, honking cars - city life! Ā Dr's appointment this morning and then I am home. It's been very tiring.

I hope everyone has a pleasant day in the sunshine. Ā May all your courgette flowers be female!! Ā (I had to sow more as my plants had only male flowers - wasn't going to wait around for the girls to show up so out they came!!)

A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
We have sunshine and chattering magpies to accompany our coffee this morning… and Ludwig the Blackbird keeps whistling the intro to his 9th symphony.Ā

Withou going into the horror of what’s happening, is it just me? Ā I simply don’t get why anyone would be at all interested in sitting in a metal box at the bottom of the ocean to look at another tragic Ā result of mankind’s hubris. So many much more worthwhile things you could do with your millions.Ā

    Hi all

Lots of lovely rain yesterday, so today I shall mostly be picking up fallen plants and trussing them like chickens.

Second try! I can’t help thinking that you’re right Dove. If people have that sort of money they Ā  Could help needy people get accommodation solutions. 😔

Hear!! Hear! @Pat E. And now I read that the ā€˜submersible’ (NB it’s not a submarine) was built using parts designed for other purposes and had not been subjected to the proper safety checks! Ā Why would anyone take those risks with their son!?!? Ā I can’t help thinking that the more money folk have the quicker their common sense leaves them 🤯

Good morning everyone,Ā  happy summer solstice.Ā  We had a (very) little rain again last night before bedtime. Even little helps as the slogans goes. The soil was just nicely damp yesterday , I sowed 3 lots of French beans.Ā  Hope the germination is better than the peas earlier,Ā  not sure if it's too late to try any more peas. The traditional advice is not to sow peas after mid summer as they invariably get powdery mildew. Enjoy your days if you can.
