Good morning @Biglad and all arriving shortly. I was awakened by the heaviest of rain storms at 03:20 this morning - did manage to get back to sleep though. Biglad, I think you may be tempted!!

I've got a shopping list of a trellis and bag of perlite @Ladybird4. I'll report back later on what actually ends up in my car....

Good morning all. Day off today so planning to tackle some unmentionables and also partially weed the front drive. I will of course be constantly cursing whoever decided on block paving out there!
Work no better really but at least it’s cooler. Once again I have agreed to do extra hours, foolish I know but I can’t see my colleagues struggle. On the plus side our regular pharmacist is on holiday and we have some of my favourite locums working with us.
I don’t watch sport but a lot of you seem to be enjoying Wimbledon I now realise why we have rain forecast. Well done Tennis!

Morning all. Bright and windy here, what's new? Biglad, you will be tempted, take it from those who know😂
I hope @Yviestevie is having a good Art break away and getting some good tips with her painting. I do hope her wrist splint is holding up.
Hello to @Ante1 too, he will be so busy these days up at the cottage and tending his beloved pets, I wonder if he will have any energy left for his catch up with colleagues.?🧐
@debs64, work can be the bane of our lives, but one day, one day........ Has your fiancé settled down in his new job now?
    Have a good one folks.

    Morning all.

Sun is shining, so far. Box hedge needs trimming.

OH is going to physio at the hospital. I'm not going with him. Says he can manage, shows how much he has improved.

Just heard that 17 yr old grandson has "mention tres bien" for his bacclaureat, equivalent to 3 grade As at A level. He'll be going to Poitiers University.

    Good morning
It’s cloudy here at the moment with drizzle in the air, but it’s supposed to stay dry today (?). I hope it does dry up properly as I’ve got cloth things waiting to go on the string thingy 😂.
OH is tackling the front hedge, but his hedge cutter is sounding decidedly ropey and needs frequent recharging, so I think a new one may be on the cards. I’ll get changed in a minute and help pick up the cuttings.
Enjoy your day off @debs64. I agree about the blockpavings. We have them in our cul de sac, and although they look nice, they are prone to moss, which is tedious to remove.
Congrats to your grandson @Busy-Lizzie. You must be proud of him.
Well, @Biglad, enjoy your trip to the GC, and let us know what you ended up buying 😂

Good afternoon all. I have managed a few hours in the garden today. Green bin is almost full (collection day this week) and the weedy areas between the back of the garage and the side of the GH and the back of the greenhouse are now clear. Lily came out and kept me company but the whole time she was there my little robin was going bonkers scolding her. She went indoors after a while and Robbie came down to scoff the slug eggs I had found inside one of my plant pots. I got the bird feeders filled - hoping to catch another sight of the woodpecker too. The heavy rain had certainly made it easy to tug weeds up out of the ground.
Busy lots of great news from you today. It must be very reassuring to know that your OH now feels well enough to make this trip alone. As Red maple said, you must be bursting with pride about your grandson's Baccalaureate. Congratulations to him!
Debs, I have block paving and I have almost given up trying to remove horsetail from it. I dread to think how much I have spent on weed killer too - to no avail. I had one plant of Erigeron karvinskianus in my back garden. Somehow seeds escaped and the top end of my drive is carpeted with them. They seem extremely happy growing in heaven knows what between the block paving. I just let them do their own thing as they look so pretty and flower non stop plus the pollinators love them.

Signing out for today. Enjoyed the bits of the Murray/Peniston match I caught between gardening sessions. See everyone in the morning. Hope that you all enjoy your evenings.

  • Hello all.  Missed the tennis so far but do enjoy watching Coco Gauff.  Had a lovely stir fry for tea.  Cooler day today 15 degrees.
