Afternoon all, Managed to get some work in the garden done this afternoon. Planted tomatoes in the greenhouse, prepared the barrel for more pea planting. Planted another row of french beans and watered everything. Have lots of roses in bud but only one has started to flower and that's in a container. Everything is late this year because of the cold spring.  Popped out for coffee, cake and a gossip with Bestie after picking her up from the hospital where she had her pre op assessment for a hip replacement. Just waiting now for a spag bol to finish cooking.
Ante I hope there’s a turnaround in the weather soon for you it is difficult to plan.  I had sixty winks this afternoon and feel better for it.  LB I hope you managed shopping today.  Busy day tomorrow kitchen floor rep am and sparky after lunch.  A kitchen floor sample arrived today but does seem rather slim, hope there’s a denser selection, you can’t tell online.
Good afternoon all. I did like Yvie today and have taken an absolute age this p.m. getting my tomatoes into their final large pots in the greenhouse. I only had 7 to do (don't laugh Ante!) as I had given 3 to Jack. I was just being very careful with my back.
Ante, it must be so devastating when you cannot get out to get all your work done. Fingers crossed you get a break in your rainy weather soon
Busy, it must be great having a family member as your dentist. My initial consultation with my new dentist is creeping ever closer.
Hazel, aphids will feed on any young, green tree leaves. My new apple tree is infested with big, fat, pink ones but I just run my thumb and finger over them to squish them. Speaking of roses in pots I bought 2 miniatures this year and they are just a mass of leaves at the moment - still settling in I suppose.
Rosie, it is at least a good thing that you have a sample to look at and consider rather than just guessing from a picture online or in a book. Hope it all goes well tomorrow.

OH has been working on his latest project all day and after much jiggling about, he's got it hanging up and looking good. Just needs finishing off, a bit of sanding and then painting and job is a good one. Rosie, good luck tomorrow Hope you find the flooring you like and fingers crossed the electrician does a good job. LB, we only have one tomato plant this year. OH doesn't eat toms..only the occasional cherry tomato. Don't think I could eat seven plants worth of toms😂 I'm signing out for today. Night all.Â
Hello all. Another busy day at work so it’s an early night for me with a glass of wine and a good book. Hope tomorrow is a good gardening day for everyone.Â
Cold and windy morning, but at least is dry. If stays like this I'll go to cottage and see what can be done. Now is time for cup and prepare for school. This weekend we will have small flower market, if weather permits. I need some petunias and marigolds.

I now have a new game when I get in from work at night… Hunt the tortoise! Graham just seems to get out every day and stomp around then find somewhere different each time to snuggle down. Under a clump of peonies last night. I need to spend time observing him to see how he is escaping, it’s fine if I am home but I worry he will get trapped or fall off something. He is supposed to be the easy pet!
