Hi all. Topbird, loving the view from your van on a night. Wonderful and some good activities going on there too. Sounds very relaxing and friendly.
Busy, we have been to a couple of Gc's this morning and noticed that fish and chips in one cafe was £14.95 each, yikes! Don't know how that compares nowadays but to us it was expensive.
Got some nice low growing alpine type plants to fill some spaces we've made by yanking out some too big a plant in the corner border. Also, I had ordered some seeds for Dianthus Deltoides Brilliant as the birds have yanked that plant out of our garden this year, cheeky monkeys. OH will sow them in late summer for next year. The colour is splendidly bright.
Son has texted, he has come down with whatever 23 has but later is feeling a bit better whilst son has taken tablets which seem to be working. They have been to the pharmacy and have stocked up on medicine for 23 to stop vomiting and feeling nauseous. However, it is 42 degrees there.........I would be a puddle and a burnt up shrivelled mass😱😱🥵🥵🥵 Weekend is looking at getting to 28 and 29 here....gawd.
Dreadful situation with Titan sub.Poor poor families. Apparently there are now questions about safety being explored. 😢
Topbird thank you. It sounds very friendly, convivial and it’s good to rest and read a book and watch the world go by. Good to swim in warm water. You’ll be very chilled when you get back. Hazel yes terribly sad it shouldn’t have gone ahead as they had had problems on a previous dive. LB I had a snooze on the bed after my endeavours soon joined by something fury and warm.
Afternoon all. Here I am again. Outside is still scorching, and I was only briefly in my front garden. MY tree lily should open flowers tomorrow. This year is huge with large flower buds. Looking forward to see it again. As I planed, I'm doing absolutely nothing.
Ante, Imcouldnt cope with temperatures of 36 degrees. I admire anyone who can cope and work in such conditions but don't forget to drink of fluids!😉 Goodness Topbird, that maypole looks great! The decorators have a good eye....🙂 Welly wanging ....marvellous! You do get up to all sorts on your jaunts, don't you?😉😂
Put an offer on a place today. NOT a bungalow, but has the potential for the garage to be converted to a downstairs bedroom. Was swayed by the garden, amongst other things.
It does look good doesn't it Hazel? Took them less than 2hrs from start to finish including collecting foliage😲 Would normally be much more colourful with lots of wild flowers (especially ox-eye daisies) but they've been and gone in the heat.
The most nerve wracking thing this afternoon was getting dragged out to line up with 3 other people. Then two teams had to guess our combined ages.🫣 The correct figure was 278. Amazingly (and it's never happened before) one team got the correct answer and the other team guessed 277 so they couldn't have been closer.
The silliest thing we did was singing a song (and doing actions) pretending to be baby frogs - don't ask!!!
Do you have midsummer festivities in Croatia @Ante1 ?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Meant to say T'bird how lovely photos you posted. I'm so glad that you have wonderful time. We don't have midsummer festivities. Only small region on border with Slovenia has midsummer bonfire celebration.
Good afternoon all. Oh my goodness T'Bird, what beautiful pictures and the moonrise picture is absolutely idyllic. You must have felt a deep sense of peace experiencing that view from your van. Haven't you had the most marvellous of times? I'm glad there was no wicker involved and I am pleased you told us that was the maypole because I was getting twitchy I bet the maypole looks doubly stunning when the flowers are still in their prime and can be woven into the design. There is always something very cheery about any daisy type flower. Welly wanging sounds fun and as for the pretending to be a baby frog (isn't that a tadpole???} - the mind is boggling. Huge fun by the sound of it. You won't want to be coming home!
Hazel, I was sorry to hear that your son had gone down with the bug that 23 has/had. That heat must be so debilitating for them. I'd want to stand in a pool all the time.
Ante. I do hope that we will be seeing a pic of your tree lily. It sounds awesome. Is it nice to know that after this weekend you won't have to worry about a horrid Monday?
@rowlandscastle444 I'm loving the scope of that garden! Hope your offer is accepted.

Got dragged in to some very silly games (eg welly-wanging) which was great fun.
Cakes were delicious….
