    Morning Ante and Ruby.
Knew you would be very busy Ante - so don't worry. 36°C is a dreadful heat to do anything in. It was 25°C in my bedroom when I got up first thing - it felt like midday. Even Lily is struggling with these temperatures. I couldn't resist taking this picture of Lily sunbathing at the top of the stairs yesterday when I got home from Bestie's:

Ante, I LOVE your cartoon pic. It really made me smile as I think all cat owners will know that exact experience!
Ruby, I am enjoying my second cuppa this morning! Nectar!

Morning Rubee. I could also have some rain. It's still ok for veggies, but rain would certainly help.

LB, love your photo. At least Lily enjoys sun.

    Morning everybody.
It feels cooler here this morning, a bit fresher. No sunshine yet, though, just cloud cover so that makes it cooler. No rain forecast for today, though looking at the sky, it might.
Goodness, 36 degrees is hot @Ante1. I find those temps a bit too much - I struggled a bit last year when we had temps even higher and hope we don’t quite get to those figures again. I think the high heat coupled with the humidity we tend to get here in the UK is very draining. A dry heat is different.
A fairly empty day today although we do plan to pop out for a “fish Friday” lunch at our local GC - it’s very good, and not too expensive.
Hope you all have a good day.

    Morning all.

We are going to spend the weekend with OH's niece in Bristol. Long drive. OH went to Uni in Bristol, a long time ago.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Ante that is very warm, enjoy your rest.  LB might be good to have a break from driving in the heat.  Lovely pic of Lily at the top of the stairs.  Hazel I hope 23 improves soon and they can enjoy the rest of their holiday.

Hello all. I've done a few hours in the garden and we actually had a few spots of rain so I've made the decision to leave Canasta for today. It is steamy hot and I've been sorting out some duvets and sleeping bags that will be sent to the Ukraine. There is a charity collecting point where my Bestie lives that does a run once they have a truck full of all sorts of items.
Red maple, that sounds delicious - you have made my mouth water!
Safe journey to you and your OH Busy. I went to Bristol many years back and enjoyed going on board the S.S. Great Britain. It was absolutely fascinating to hear all about its history and to be able to wander everywhere was a real treat. I was also able to view the caravel, Matthew, but was not able to go aboard it as I had run out of time. Definitely worth a visit.

Hello all. Not many photos to share for last few days as we've done a lot of sitting by the water and reading type of thing rather than sight seeing.A proper holiday for once!

We did have a nice day on Wed driving about 100 miles north and inland stopping at 3 churches I'd picked out. One is the oldest wooden church in Sweden (1230's I think), another had one of only 3 surviving in Europe medieval (untouched) painted, wooden ceilings and the other was the oldest stone church in the area. All very interesting and covered in medieval wall paintings - very much my thing.

We arrived at our mid-summer campsite yesterday and have an idyllic spot right on the lakeside. It's a small, shallow lake and the water is warm enough that even I have been for a swim today. Today is the mid- summer holiday and the maypole was dressed with greenery and wildflowers this morning (not as many flowers as usual because of the heat and drought). This afternoon we meet around the pole to drink coffee and eat cake (the ladies have been busy prepping fresh cream and strawberry sponges). This eveing we havea big BBQ by the lake. Everyone is very very friendly and welcoming. It's lovely🙂

LB - loved your photos from the arboretum - wonderfully evocative memorials

Hazel - hope your OH makes a speedy recovery from such an unpleasant experience. Poor chap - I do feel for him.

Rosie - glad your flooring is finally getting sorted. The finish you've chosen sounds lovely🙂
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
