    Morning all,
turning cloudy here, but no rain forecast. Feels very muggy.
Big difference in the cost of the fans, @debs64, and I’m sure the cheaper one will be as effective.
Helping out at the fund raising coffee morning at the local church today. It usually raises a reasonable amount towards the funds - these old buildings are expensive to upkeep.
After that, a lazy afternoon is planned, maybe potter a bit in the garden if it doesn’t get too hot, otherwise just sit and enjoy it.
Repotted a patio rose yesterday - golden memories - not sure if it was the proper time to do it, but it wasn’t happy where it was and it’s pot had lots of extra largish self seeded seedlings in it competing for nutrients. We took it out of the pot, removed all the interlopers, cleaned the pot, put in fresh compost and feed and put the rose back in after cutting away dead shoots. 🤞 it perks up and likes it’s new spot on the patio. As I’m of the school of 2 chance gardening, we’ll see 😊.
    Have a good day folks.

    Morning all.

Thanks LB. We stopped for the loo and a sandwich. Looking forward to Westonbirt.

I slept very badly. Don't know how anyone sleeps in a city with traffic rushing past and people chatting loudly. Don't people go to bed in cities? Too hot as well, must ask niece for a sheet tonight.

Morning Ante, Debs, Ruby and Busy.
Ante, it rained here last night which has saved me a big job in the garden first thing.
Debs, that is heartbreaking news for your friend. I hope that she can get some much needed help. 19 is no age at all.
Ruby, I have gardening plans today though there is still the slight chance of some rain. Tomorrow they are talking about further thunderstorms in my area.
Red maple, its good to hear that your rose has perked up. I have some I'm hoping to get into their permanent positions in the garden today - time will tell.
Busy, I would hate living in a city. I think that, like a plant in the wrong position, I would just fade away and never flourish.

Good description, LB. That's how I feel.

I think that where I live is too busy and noisy for me, so city life is a definite no-no.

All my jobs are short-term contracts @Ladybird4. They are set up from scratch, fully recruited and then completely finished within a matter of months, normally. There will have been a couple of hundred folk involved in this one but around 90% will have finished during the last week or so. Hence, they can be so chaotic and you end up working with numpties :o

    Morning all.
Very hot during the night so didn't sleep too well. Busy, when we once visited London we couldn't get over how many people and traffic were about near midnight. The city  that never sleeps. I hope you enjoy the visit( long journey) though, when are you due  home?
We have a much welcomed brisk breeze this morning so far. As it going to be hot ** ( is it?) I hope  it hangs around.
Son and 23 feeling better as each day goes by now LB, phew. They've not had a good start to their holiday as when they checked in, they discovered that the two girls were roomed in flats two blocks away! Sons partner wasn't having that and eventually  got them moved. Then 23's eldest sister hurt her foot in the pool. Then 23 and then son ill.  So hopefully  things will settle down now and they can enjoy themselves.
** ( Is it?) , YES, the sun is suddenly blaring down......☀️☀️

Morning all. Another glorious day here although there is a brisk breeze which has an edge if you're in the shade but makes it just right when you're in the sun.

It's so nice here we might stay Sunday night as well. Means we see less of Sweden but we get lots of chill time. Can't say I really fancy sight seeing or cycling when it's hot - swimming and lazing sounds much nicer. Had only catered 3 dinners so OH is cycling 40mins to the nearest SM (bit of an effort to get the van out and he enjoys the exercise....) to get a lump of meat to throw on the communal BBQ this evening.

Your job does sound unnecessarily stressful Biglad. Some people are just a nightmare to work with / for. Hope it all comes to an end very soon.

Hazel - what a time your son is having. Holiday time is so very precious when you're working - such a shame they've had a bad start to theirs. Hope they can start to relax and unwind now.

BL - As you know, I live in the middle of nowhere. No shops, no buses, no pub, no pavements, no street lamps. Some people who visit get a bit freaked out by the dark and the silence. I love it but it has made me very sensitive to noise when we're away, especially at night. Apart from really enjoying museums and having the opportunities to try different foods, I can see little attraction in even visiting (let alone living in) a city.

The weather at home sounds unpleasantly hot. Not sure we've had any rain at home so I'm sure the garden is struggling. Nothing I can do about it from here though.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

So sorry to hear about your friend and her son @debs64. It must be heartbreaking for her and her family.

It's too hot here to do anything so lounging about the sofa watching Queens. No energy.
Debs, I was really sorry to hear to that news about your sisters friends son. It must be so dreadful for all concerned and frightening.
Ante, high winds for you now, whatever next? Good to hear no lasting damage done.

Dropped eldest at the train station earlier. I left the house with strict instructions to stay out as long as possible - charming eh?

So, after I saw eldest onto her train, made my first ever visit to the nearby Gordon Riggs! Oh dear - the long-term cost of the OH having an empty house all afternoon to do some unmentionables could be astronomic :o
