@Yviestevie that was a cracker of a storm wasn’t it? Let’s hope that heavy rain has helped the gardens, I don’t mind losing a few peonies if it is good for the larger shrubs and all the trees around here. I expect you feel the same.
Plumbers here this morning we definitely have some sort of a leak damaging the kitchen ceiling but nobody can find the source. Then work for me. Hope it’s a bit cooler today and people are kinder.
Good morning Debs. Fingers crossed the plumbers find the source of the leak today and fix it. Hazel has got the plumbers into tomorrow to sort out her blocked pipe - must be the month of the plumbers! Fingers crossed for polite customers today.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning all. At last, the (hot ) sun has made an appearance ☀️☀️ I have pulled down the canopy and the parasol has gone up outside and the temperature gauge on shed is showing 30🥵 Yesterday it was 12 🤪 Crazy weather. No rain yet or thunderstorms. Debs, hope your plumber can trace where leak is coming from, ours was from underneath bath which is directly over the kitchen( which is where we were getting water showing on ceiling). We're already for our plumber, cupboards cleared and cleaned out. Ante, hope you have a decent week at school and that you can get some work done at the cottage. Debs and Yvie, hope your gardens survived your inclement weather from yesterday. They'll soon pick up.
@Songbird-2 they already checked under bath all bone dry I think it may be the down pipe? That’s what son in law said anyway it will be quite a kerfuffle sorting it out but it needs doing I don’t want the kitchen ceiling to fall on me!
Gardens are looking lush and healthy a few battered flowers but nothing serious although more rain forecast for today, looking on here I think we have everyone else’s.
There was a big thunderstorm last night in Eastbourne.
We are going back to Norfolk today, but stopping for lunch with old friends from when I lived in Kent. I haven't seen S for years, really looking forward to it. They came to my old house but over 10 years ago.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@debs64, sounds like the down pipe might be the culprit, but there are such a lot of bends and knuckles in pipe work, i suppose it could be anything.....whatever it is, I sincerely hope it gets sorted for you soon. Good to hear the garden has survived. Busy, enjoy your catch up with friend and hope you arrive safely back in Norfolk later on today. What a weekend you've had.
******Please send any unwanted rain this way.......💦☔️💦☔️💦******
Debs hope you can get your plumbing sorted out soon. Hazel the suns gone in I wonder if there’ll be a storm. Held off going to the post office as no brolly with me. Rosie
Well we got a lot of the thunder but very little rain
More thunderstorms forecast later - a deluge is required!
One of the blueberry bushes (Aurora) is starting to look a tad unwell. After surviving last year's drought and the winter wet-freeze, I'd be gutted to lose any of my 3 musketeers! I've watered and fed but a good soaking of rainwater is what is required.
Hi folks, Yes @debs64 it was definitely a cracker. To go with the stain on the kitchen ceiling we now have one in the lounge where the bay window has leaked. I'd say 'it never rains but it pours' but that's a pun too far. We know where the problem is and I'm hoping our son in law will come and fix it for us. The garden is fine, hoping the roses and peonies will pick themselves up as they dry off. Off to Redditch in a moment to pick up Grandsons from school.

We need the rain, to water the garden and fill the butts.
