Nothing wrong with just chatting Yvie, and you will be mixing with your friends in the class.

  • Evening all, just just woken up after sixty winks to recharge my batteries.  Hazel the young ones can have quite an appetite.  LB feeling a little peckish now.  Yvie it’s good to chat.  Thought I’d slept until Thursday am but Wednesday evening thankfully I needed that.  Rosie

I found the funeral more upsetting than I expected. B was 87 so a had reached a decent age but he had been such a live wire in the choir and at church only 10 years ago. His wife was in a wheelchair and cried all through the service. Her son, from her first marriage, and his wife had come from Scotland. She will be going into a home here in France for 3 months then they will take her to their home in Scotland. B's two sons from his first marriage, had come from Newcastle with their wives. It made me think of our future, OH is 81 now and we live in two different countries. There weren't many at the funeral, I was surprised as there are still people from the choir who knew him who I had expected to see. But a lot have died or gone back to the UK.

I have nearly finished the undercoat on the landing. The rest will have to wait until we get back. I've put up an electric fence to stop the deer getting to the roses.

It's been very hot again today.

Sorry to hear it's been a rough day for you Busy. These things can certainly put our own mortality into perspective. I think the pair of you are doing very well to jump between France and here, not sure I could, I wouldn't have the energy!
Yvie, my PR has flared up a little lately, I tape my fingers up with microporous  tape, seems the rigidity helps contain the pain....stops fingers from bending or moving so doesn't aggravate things...... try not to let your wrist stop you doing stuff, frustrating as it may be.
Signing off now, folks. Night all.
  • Morning all.  Busy wishing you better days ahead.  Hazel hope you’ll be more comfortable.  Needed to be up early I’ve had tea and breakfast.  Rosie

Good morning Rosie and all later arrivals. Busy, it must have been so upsetting for you all - especially witnessing the distress of your choir friend's wife. Carpe diem.
Sorry to read that the PR has flared again Hazel. Have you heard anything from the hospital yet?
Sunnier here than the last two mornings. Off to see Bestie and I've got a pile of stuff I sorted yesterday that I'm taking to the Sue Ryder shop. How many mugs and tea towels does one person need??

    Morning all.

Thank you for your sympathy about the funeral etc.

Today will be a clearing up, packing and bed sheets changing day. Off early tomorrow. Tomorrow night we'll be staying with OH's daughter in Eastbourne. Saturday is my sister's 70th birthday celebration. My brother will be coming down from Scotland, it will be good to see him. On Monday we'll be going to lunch with an old friend of mine from when I lived in Kent. She and her husband are still in Kent. I haven't seen her for several years. Looking forward to all of it apart from the long drive to the ferry port.

    Good morning everyone,
Just finished my Pilates class, so feel very stretched.
So sorry yesterday was difficult @Busy-Lizzie, 💐.
Some of you asked where it was OH and I went the other day. It was to Roche Abbey, a former Cistercian abbey, now sadly in ruins after Henry VIII vandalism, but very atmospheric. It’s in a beautiful setting, and we were able to take a walk around its outer perimeter to take in views of it from a different perspective, and view the lake and greenery installed by Capability Brown in the 18th century. Sadly, we forgot to take the camera, but took a few on OH phone, which are not quite so good.
Today, I must catch up with household chores and hope that the sun gets out this afternoon 🤞.
