    My freezer is dead.
The aperture into which it fits is 90cm . "American style" fridge freezers are now 91cm wide.

Oh that's a PITA @Hostafan1!  Why does America have to oversize everything?

Huh, that's typical we had the same problem with a microwave.  The replacement model (same brand) was wider and lower than the old one.  We ended up with a very expensive combination microwave and oven,  which in fairness has proved very useful, as the only thing that would fit in the space.
    Good luck finding a replacement.

  • We had the same problem with a washing machine.  Had a fitted kitchen built around a "standard-sized" washing machine. When the washing machine was on its last legs, we sold the house, knowing we couldn't fit a replacement in the gap. It became the problem for the next owner.

Evening all, it's been quite a nice sunny day here so have been gardening again most of the day. Found the lost waterbutt tap in the undergrowth which actually fitted back on again so fingers crossed. The waterbutt is big, dug into a slope, fitted behind a rose arch and buried into bushes so would it virtually impossible to replace.

OH is back home from his canal boat trip. but unfortunately a bit poorly, tested negative for Covid thank goodness so it may be just a cold. I don't want to catch either as I'm going to Malvern on the 13th. Separate bedrooms it is then until he does another test.
With nine men to a narrowboat, over 4 days, he was almost bound to catch something!

That's very good news @Pat E but not so good for you @Hostafan1. Hope you get a freezer to fit.

Hope you're home by now @Busy-Lizzie after a good journey. How nice to see your family altogether.

Thanks for that. The aperture is 90 cm so a narrower model is going to have gaps an either side, Not perfect either.

But a decent kitchen fitter could come up with a piece of trim to conceal the gap, for not too many arms and legs 😉

We arrived at my French home at 12.30pm. Unloaded the car then went to the SM for a weekly shop. Came back, unloaded the car again, put away shopping, unpacked the other stuff. Didn't get time for gardening.

I'm so glad that I weeded then thickly mulched before we left. The borders aren't hugely weedy. The raspberries are full of buttercups though. My penstemons have survived the winter, unlike the Norfolk ones, but 3 pink ground cover roses look dead. The white ones in the same bed are doing well. Max/min thermometer said it had been down to -5C. The raspberries are full of buttercups though. It is all more in advance than in Norfolk. The ground is quite damp, must have rained recently. It will be a gardening day tomorrow.

    Morning all,

A beautiful day here again, the strong wind seems to have dropped at last too which was the only thing spoiling the outdoor experience.

Wednesday's are usually busy, so with sunshine as well, it's likely to be even more so.

Preparations in place for our Coronation Lunch menu too.

Have a good day all. 😁
