Well, thats it for the Coronation. Amazing crowds. I really enjoyed it all.

Just caught up with everyone and so glad to read your extremely good news @coccinella!

We watched the coronation - the ceremony and the parade.  Even though we are not royalists and feel uncomfortable with the expense of it all when people are going hungry, it was quite the spectacle.

But I am celebrating our local election results here more than that.  Won't say which party, but real hope for the future.

Glad the tests were negative @Hostafan1, but perhaps still worrying if there was no reason for the chest pains.  OH is getting them more now too.  He has COPD and is on inhalers but the chest pains worry him more than he lets on.  He's read that Omega 3 might help, but has as yet failed to buy any.

Glad the trip to the nursery paid off @Busy-Lizzie - that border looks perfect.

Hope everyone's bad backs/hips/knees aren't giving them too much gyp.

    Evening all,

Extremely good news @coccinella, very pleased to hear it.

Our Coronation Lunch went well, everyone happy to participate in a bit of pageantry, all very jolly. Some lovely photos on the BBC news site too.  No matter what your political stance might be, you can't say that they don't know how to put on a good show for the rest of the world. Certainly good for business.

Managed a lovely late lunch with Charlie too today. All very relaxed. He is however having some problems with his dad, same as me, struggling with the controlling, demanding behaviour. Several, and I mean several, messages received whilst we were at lunch, where are you, how long are you going to be, are you on the way back yet.... Poor lad, he's having a rare moment with his mum, doing nothing wrong and is being hounded. He's well and truly fed up with it.

Evening all, had a better night thank goodness. It absolutely tipped down with rain all day and I got soaked this morning getting the paper but needed the fresh air and exercise before watching the Coronation. I really enjoyed it and glad it all went well. Loved the frocks!
It's apparently bought in loads of overseas tourists, especially Americans and London hotels were full so that will offset the cost quite a lot. I don't care how much it cost, there hasn't been one for 70 years, and it's something we do so well. All good for the economy.

That's splendid news @coccinella, you must be so relieved.

Pleased your Coronation lunch went well @D0rdogne_Damsel but sorry Charlie is having problems. No easy answer there I'm afraid except refuse to give in. That's how emotional bullies work.

Brilliant news @coccinella, I'm thrilled for you. Such a relief I would think.

Been watching the coronation and thought it absolutely fabulous. All those folks and troops etc., from so many commonwealth countries, wonderful to see and those parading keeping so perfectly in step just amazing.

Whether you like it or not you have to admit that no one puts together this sort of spectacular quite like the British.
