    Good morning all.
I hope you're all having a better weekend than mine.
I ran out of oil ( AGAIN )on Saturday morning. I can't even order any until tomorrow and with another BH next weekend, god alone knows when I'll have running hot water and heating again.
Also on Saturday morning I could smell " a chemical smell " in the kitchen and by night time the freezer was starting to defrost.
I got home from work last night after my 12 hour shift and had to start cooking food from the freezer which had defrosted.
And it's COLD. No sunshine here.
    Devon.

    Oh ‘eck @Hostafan1 🙄 🤗

💡 would it be an idea to have an electric shower fitted in one of the bathrooms?  Or an immersion heater in the hot water tank?  That’s what we had at the farm for hot water in the summer … we only used the oil for heating in the winter.

Morning all, Happy May Day to everyone. Not sure what we will be doing today, it is rather dull and drizzly, thought it was supposed to be sunny!
Just got to see G/daughter and partner off on their way back to Sussex and the day is free for whatever we choose - probably tidying up and restoring calm as our small dwelling looks a bit like a bomb has hit it. But it has been lovely to see them, much laughter, great fun and several glasses of wine consumed! Think maybe we will just put our feet up and leave everything until tomorrow.

Morning all, that's not good news @Hostafan1 luckily you were only away for 12 hours, have you finished cooking yet? We were away once and there was a storm that tripped the electric and we came home to a freezer of rotting food floating in water!
Very changeable weather here, a couple of days of hot and now very cool and rainy.
My tomato seeds never germinated so have had to go out and buy some plants. All the other veg seeds are doing well in the same compost so I suspect it may be the seeds. I was about to go in the garden but it's just started to pour with rain, hey ho.
Happy May gardening to all Forkers!

Well that’s a blessing at least @Hostafan1 … and the engineer too! Phew!  👍

Our venerable Dualit toaster died last week … it’s had a lot of use lately  … we’ve got another just the same … so reliable compared with any other make we’ve ever had. I wont be surprised if the washing machine pegs out (😉) soon as well … it’s getting on a bit now and we’re washing every day because son needs clean bedding etc all the time at the moment and it seems much noisier on spin just lately and although I should be able to choose a slower spin speed it thinks otherwise. We’ve had it around 8+ years with only one repair (pump) so that’s not bad … it didn’t cost a lot … it’s an Indesit … I always used to have Bosch but the last one only lasted 3 years and cost at least twice as much !

    Morning all 😎

Thank you for taking us into May Forkers @Dovefromabove 🌷

What a total PITA @Hostafan1 - I hope you can get oil soon.

My tomatoes have been really slow to get going @floralies - prob because they haven’t had much heat as just in ambient room temp. Courgettes were straight up though!

I was thinking about dawn chorus @coccinella as I was outside at 0545 on Friday (very early for me, but had a 7am shift start) and wondered if there was a ‘peak’ week.

I hope work is ok today @D0rdogne_Damsel and you have time for a coffee outside, or maybe a wine.

    Lovely Autumn colours @PatE

Wow those roses will be a stunning sight (and smell) @busy-lizzie

Hope all good with you @raisingirl and @rowlandscastle444 and anyone else who’s popped in.

It’s supposed to be a tad warmer and sunny spells today. I have a few garden jobs and I might go to MIL’s to help her with any gardening bits. Her garden is low maintenance but I have gradually helped her build up a lovely selection of patio pots so it’s time to re-pot and organise those.

    Have a good day all.
