Hi folks, Absolutely shattered today after my polling clerk duties yesterday.  6.15 a.m. to 10.15 p.m (most of it spent sitting on a rock hard chair) has resulted in lots of aches and pains.
Mind you I have a couple of days of doing nothing in particular coming up so hopefully things will improve quickly
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Evening everyone. Friday at last!!

Busy work week (as usual) so really look forward to pizza night (half home made) on Friday. Popped a garlic bread in too.

I hope you are all doing ok.

Amazing looking baked delights there @D0rdogne_Damsel. They did ‘coronation specials’ in the work canteen today - coronation chicken, coronation fish (?) veggie quiche and Victoria sandwich (!) apparently (I did not partake as I worked through my lunch. Ok I had grapes and some chocolates).

The doctor confirmed the diagnosis of the 111 doctor. It was diverticulitis, but it has settled down. He's given me a 4 month prescription to keep it calm and said if it flares up again to ring him straight away and if I can't get hold of him I must dial 15, the French 999. It may need immediate antibiotic treatment. If I'm lucky I won't have it again, but it will always be a possibility.

    I'm glad you're a bit more sorted .
I called 111 yesterday about chest pains. Half an hour later an ambulance arrived with 2 paramedics, they sent me to A&E.  All tests came back " normal ".

Beautiful cakes @D0rdogne_Damsel and @chicky, my mouth is now watering. Glad to hear that you have a diagnosis at last @Busy-Lizzie, let's hope that your prescription keeps everything calmed down from now on. You need to put your feet up @Yviestevie there is nothing worse than sitting on a hard chair for giving one aches and pains. Hope you are feeling better now @Hostafan1 but I must say that that was a very quick response from the ambulance service.
Have a good weekend folks whatever you decide to do.

    Morning all.

I always chew my food well @Pat E. I still have all my teeth, although a few have crowns. 😁

    Glad you are normal @Hostafan1.

    Yummy looking cake @chicky.

We'll be watching the Coronation. Looking forward to it.

Tonight we are babysitting for Son 2. They are going to see Swan Lake in Bordeaux. We stay the night and have Sunday Lunch with them.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Still dry and fine here this morning.  @WonkyWomble is picking up one of sons best friends today (he doesn’t drive) and bringing him here … he’s very strong indeed so will be available to help lift son should he have difficulty getting out of the bath … he’s not had a proper bath since the accident and he’s been longing for the day he’s well enough to have a good soak … today is that day … I understand there will be fanfares and lots of cheering … a momentous day indeed 🤣

I will be preparing a Massaman beef curry (son’s favourite) for all of us … and watching the coronation 😎

    Morning all,

Lovely day here, I hope it stays fine in the UK for the Coronation for everyone involved. Lots of interest here. I attended a community coffee morning yesterday (took Coronation Cupcakes) and we all toasted the king with a glass of champagne and a cupcake. 60 people there, English, French, Dutch and American. All very jolly.

Enjoyed dinner at friends last night, not been since before Covid confinements because they became very passionate about convincing everyone that Covid was all a hoax. As much as I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion I couldn't cope with the constant nagging so had avoided them. Luckily, last night went fine and we managed to avoid talking politics. Phew!

Glad you're safely back in France @Busy-Lizzie and the doctor has sorted you out.

Hope you're feeling better @Hostafan1 stress related perhaps?

Lovely cake @chicky, and the most important thing about cake is it's made for sharing. 😁

Very long day @Yviestevie, hope you're able to stretch out a bit in the garden today.

Right, must get on, Coronation Lunch to oversee.

    Good day all. 🙂
