    Evening all,

Busy few days here (normal, I know). Organising Coronation Lunch for the weekend and then moving on to summer menu from Monday, lots of nice salads and the idea is less pressure on the chef. We're making the Coronation Quiche and Scotch Eggs, the quiche is a bit 'out there'..

Been baking a lot today, 60 cupcakes ordered for tomorrow morning, Coronation Cake ( Victoria Sandwich with fresh fruit) 2 Bakewell Tarts and a Carrot Cake.

The French are very interested in UK royalty. We have the Ostensions here this weekend too, a religious festival only held every 7 years, working well for us that their colour scheme is red and blue.... Doubling up quite nicely. 😅

Managed to get tickets up the Eiffel tower too for when Charlie gets back from Berlin, Very Expensive, but he'll love it, just wish I could have booked it 6 months ago, much cheaper. 🙄

Anyway, good evening to all, hope achy people feel better soon, and despite the waiting list, it's good to know we can all get spare parts later as needed.

Thank you @Lizzie27 and @Pat E. More to do, that's just one border. Did the donkey paddock border today. It had more weeds as I hadn't mulched it. I also changed the soil and added compost to prepare for the 3 new roses that are coming next week to replace the ones that died.

Gosh, @D0rdogne_Damsel you have been busy, it all looks wonderful.

Saw your coronation cake on Facebook @D0rdogne_Damsel - brilliant, and I will be copying.  Making carrot cake for our family get together on Saturday and will be buying raspberries and blueberries to plagiarise your genius 😇

@Lizzie27 littlest Chicklet enjoyed New Zealand and had pretty good weather for most of the big sights.  She is now in Laos, sleeping in a treehouse surrounded by Gibbons 🤣.  She travelled round NZ on her own but has met up with a friend (from Uni days) for this stage of her adventures.  We (and Chicklet) are now booked up for a trip to Sri Lanka in August to meet her ……and bring her home 🏡

NT live was amazing …..play was about how a man went from an ordinary German literature professor to an SS commander in Auschwitz.  Very moving.  And a really scary reminder of how populism and nationalism can lead to unimaginable evil without anyone really noticing.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
A little light rain overnight but sunshine and blue skies here in Norfolk now ☀️
Glad Chicklet is enjoying her adventures @chicky 😊 Niece is planning a quick trip around Europe before Sandhurst. She recently spent some time working in Berlin and wants to see more. 👍

    Morning all.

Glad littlest chicklet is safe, enjoying herself and has a friend for the next stage.

It tipped with rain in the night and there was a rumble of thunder this morning.

I have an appointment with my French GP this afternoon, check up on that tummy trouble I had in Norfolk.

    Good morning to you all.

Overcast here with sun promised this arvo!

@chicky   I am glad your daughter enjoyed New Zild.  The South Island is very scenic.  Was she able to see sights such as the whales on the West Coast?  I would be interested to read about her adventures.

Some oddballs on various threads.  They may need to get out more and learn some good manners!!

My summer seedlings are hardening off - hopefully to plant next week.  Nights are still cool - ish. (13°C) days like today - 21°C.

Full moon here too @Pat E

I wish you all a happy day and a happy day for tomorrow.

We were just about to go to the weekly market this morning when an old friend who I used to go horseriding with rang to say she was in the area. So we got out of the car and spent the morning together instead. She's just left. There was a lot to catch up on.

Great pic @Pat E … sideways is fine … I’m surprised it’s not upside  down, given that you’re in the Antipodes 😉  🤗

Afternoon all, not a good day today as I had a sleepless night and feel like a zombie. OH coughed a lot and then snored loudly. Decamped to the single bed in the early hours which I don't find very comfortable, it's too hard for my aching bones. Tried to have a lie in but there were roofers near the back garden throwing roof tiles into a skip and builders in NDN's front garden with a digger and cement mixer going all day. No escape!

However, the sun did come out later so I ambled round the garden tying in clematis and roses. The garden's looking good at the moment so I'm pleased. Didn't realize I had planted so many tulips over the years.

Hope the GP can sort that tummy problem out @Busy-Lizzie and how nice to catch up with an old friend.

Very wise of chicklet to travel with a friend @chicky, I think my son also enjoyed Laos when he was out there.

I decided at the last minute I'd dig out a couple of Union Jack flags for tomorrow so they're now fluttering at the top of the trellis attached to the front wall of the house.
Our weather forecast is dire for tomorrow so it'll be good to have something to watch on the telly!

Steak and chips tonight for a treat!
