It rained in the night and forecast says it will rain in the day.
We are going to a GC to look for hose attachments for the huge waterbutt tap and a leaky hose for the veg garden.
The afternoon I'm going to a meeting of the Rose Group part of the local, mostly English, gardening club. We have been asked to bring a few roses from our gardens but mine aren't out yet.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
and especially @Ergates. I am glad that you are well, how long will you stay in hospital?
Today is another bank holiday, it is Europe Day. It used to be only for "fonctionnaires" but now has been extended to the whole of the Dutchy, and who is to complain for another day off.
Yesterday was spent looking for an outfit for my son's wedding in September. I know I am a grumpy old woman but they are already married, why the madness? I understand they want to party but why me? I am sorry but I dread the whole palaver. Anyway I bought a trouser suit. Boring dark blue (the colour was in the palette I was given so it is allowed. Yes! there's a palette for females 😑). I am grateful to my friend who helped me for hours and enthused some good will in me, lovely she is. Unlike me. Now I need shoes, a top for under the jacket and a clutch. All in good time.
So today I will go back to the garden, I have some seeds that will soon expire so I am going to throw them about.
@coccinella, The coordinating wedding party seems quite a thing in some cultures! A friend’s son married a Mexican girl, and had a very strict dress code, involving a long evening dress in a colour that she’d never have chosen. A dark blue trouser suit sounds as if it will get plenty of use in the future. Luckily we had no such restrictions for my son’s wedding, as I found a lovely hat in the charity shop, and was able to base the rest of the outfit round that. I will be going home tomorrow, so in between the various indignities, I’m hoping to catch up on some sleep. I didn’t have anything life threatening done, but I was so pleased that your recent tests had such a positive outcome!
@Ergates my daughter in law is from the Philippines, so yes they tend to go for American things. She is lovely but I did tell her "YOU tell your husband's granny that she has to obey a palette!!" 😂😂 It is going to be hilarious, I bet all the old diddies are going to go for blue 🤣🤣🤣. Other colours are sort of autumn hues.
Horrendous weather in Exeter and East Devon! Finally managed to settle down for a long overdue nap, only to be rudely woken by a horrific thunderstorm! Flashes and bangs almost simultaneous, and quite scary. Very glad I’m not going home till tomorrow, OH reports that our road looks like a river, and the power at home has been off twice. The road he would have used to come and collect me is currently closed by flooding and cars stuck in the water. And according to the Met Office, more to come! Hope Lyn and Hostafan and any other South West residents are safely at home.
Afternoon all, Thunderstorms here too. Went to art this morning and then popped into Besties for a cuppa and a chat. Last night we went out with Secondborn and her partner for a curry. Lovely evening, nice to chat without the boys for a change. No plans for the rest of the day and with all the rain I certainly wont be doing any gardening.
