Oh dear looks like you’re best off staying where you are @Ergates! Your OH too.
Fine and sunny here, although DS who was sitting on the shady terrace came in to say it had just started raining so I got the washing in and draped it on a rack upstairs … then the rain stopped. 😝

Afternoon all, looks like the bad weather's just about to hit us, it's gone awfully dark. Hope my daughter's okay @Ergates, she lives not far from Exeter, fortunately at the top of a hill! Sounds like you're in the right place today. Went into town for a much needed haircut this morning, couldn't believe it took an hour to travel just three miles. Moved bus stops, errant buses, long queues etc, etc. That shortened my shopping time considerably so did some more after the haircut. Bought some summer pyjamas and nightdresses. M & S was full of what I call girly 'peasant' style floral dresses and tops - not my style and so long! I'd have to shorten them by yards.
Whoops, two 12ft high birch trees have just marched past my side window as I type! The NDN's are having their front garden redone again, after spending a fortune on it just 3 or 4 years ago when they moved in. I saw 3 enormous 7ft high standard 'Red Robins' had been delivered when I got back home earlier. Somehow didn't spot the birch trees. If they stay where they are, they are going to partly block my view of the hills and woods opposite which will be a shame. The NDN's are not gardeners at all and I somehow doubt that the trees will survive, they'll require massive lots of watering. It can also be very windy here which I hope they've taken into account.
Good evening everyone, it looks as though we escaped the worst of the rain here. Most of today was dry if very humid and the occasional sharp shower. Making slow progress on plots and in garden, spending a lot of time shuffling things around, trying to make space in the greenhouse. We go away at the end of the month so we really need to get things out soon.
I wonder who's awake. A lot of rain yesterday and throughout the night. Raining now. Those overflow pipes are working hard @Hostafan1. @Lizzie27 you couldn't have a more sterile garden than the new house next door to us, but I hope those birches go where they don't bother you.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Hope you got back to sleep @coccinella 🛌 and that everyone else is well rested. Weve had more rain but not in the amounts you in the west seem to have had. Think we’ve got more coming later in the day.
OH is still sound asleep 🤫 …. no coffee yet ….
