    Good morning Forkers

torrential rain here too, but no damage as far as I know. I too have sawn some seeds which have probably drowned. A satellite picture of yesterday showed the band of rain from north of Norway down to the Med with Sardinia engulfed in it. They do need the rain mind.

This morning I am taking son to an eye test then, if I feel like it, I will pop to the shops to see if there is a suitable top to go under the jacket for the wedding. I know that I have plenty of time but shopping for clothes is not a pleasurable activity for me and the earlier done the better.

Snooze away @Ergates, rest yourself.  @Dovefromabove. Good that Rob is slowly approaching the working life again. Steady does it.

    Have a good day all.

Morning all.  Have read back and am pleased that everyone is coping with whatever life is throwing at them and managing to get in a bit of gardening - or thinking about gardening - here and there!  But if anyone is not coping - that's what we're here for!

We have the Garden Market on Sunday so it is quite a frantic time for me at the moment.  Doing the pitch markings today (spraying the numbers on the edges of the pavement) and hoping that we don't have any more torrentials that will wash it away before Sunday.  And at the moment that is predicted to be sunshine all day!

But first - another meeting this morning to prepare for...

    Hello all.

I hope it goes well @D0rdogne_Damsel and you become a new house owner.

Good luck with the plant market @didyw. If it's like last year it will be a success.

I went to collect my 3 new pink roses at the ironmongers collection point this morning.

Then we went to a Gardeners' Club meeting, the general club, not the Rose Group, bit this time. There was an interesting talk by a young man who had been a mountain climber and guide before he moved to France about how to know where you are when out in the countryside. The plants and trees can tell you which direction you are facing by the way they grow and look for the sun and avoid the wind. Then we had a bring and share lunch, loads of varied dishes. We met some old friends and some new people, most enjoyable.

Do hope @D0rdogne_Damsel has bought her house by now. She will be so excited if so.

@Busy-Lizzie, that sounds a very interesting and enjoyable meeting/lunch - makes me think we really ought to get out more!

Haven't done much today as still hobbling around but did manage to put grit around a nibbled clematis and popped a plastic cloche on top in an effort to keep the slugs/snails off. I really don't want to lose this one as it's called Remembrance which my aunt gave me in memory of my mother. I should probably have potted it after I dug it up instead of moving it.

Weather's looking much better for Malvern! Just have to decide what to wear.

Glad to hear that you are home @Ergates, nothing like your own bed to make you feel better. Thinking about @D0rdogne_Damsel and keeping my fingers crossed for her. @Dovefromabove I hope Rob has enjoyed his meeting and been able to make some plans for the future.
We have just had an hour or so of torrential rain, thunder and lightening. Lights all went out (lightening hit something I suppose) but returned after a few minutes. Daughter got soaked as she was off down one of the fields with one of the dogs - no coat lol!
At least the plants have had a good water.

    Evening all!

You are nearly there @D0rdogne_Damsel! Half a glass of fizz to celebrate??

Must be a good feeling to be home @Ergates - hope you are comfortable.

I think we’ve all had a turn with thundery showers this week @AnnaB and @coccinella

I hope you can win the slug and snail battle @lLizzie27 - I’m trying wool and sand barriers this year.

I wish there was a plant/gardening club near me @Busy-Lizzie - your sounds really good. I hope your garden market is a success @didyw - nothing like that near me on a regular basis either.

Hope you’ve had an ok day @punkdoc and your garden  is full of gems and goodies to enjoy.

I hope your son had a positive meeting @Dovefromabove - real progress to be thinking of starting back at work - what a motivated and strong person he must be.

To @hostafan1, everyone else who has posted (or just called in) today - I hope all is well.

Early night for me as it’s my 12 hour day tomorrow 🥵
My garden and I live in South Wales.
