Good morning everyone,Ā  I hope you are all having a good long weekend.Ā  A cool start here too but yesterday pm was up in the mid teens C and expected to be the same today.Ā  We have been able to sit out with a coffeeĀ  a couple of times in the last few days so it's definitely getting better.Ā  IĀ  noticed the first Asparagus spears beginning to show on the plots yesterday looking forward to the first tasting of the season in the next few days. šŸ™‚

    Morning folks.

11 hour shift yesterday so I had a lie in this morning. A big list of garden jobs for this weekend. I want to finish weeding so I can mulch. I had better check I have some heat rub for the inevitable achy back later!

Have a lovely weekend all - I hope everyone can have some fresh Spring air, whether it’s a coffee outside, gardening pursuits or walking out and about.Ā

    Good morning Forkers

done a lot of weeding yesterday and mulched. I couldn't have done it without OH's help. The garden is really coming back to life. The mirabelle tree is going to burst into flowers soon. The rest of the weekend will be spent around the chocolate eggs I fear. The temperature now is 8° with some clouds. Could be worse!

Have a lovely long weekend all.

Snap @AuntyRach - my aim today is also to finish weeding so that I can mulch šŸ˜‡

I’ll be going to Hampton Court too - always a lovely show. Ā I’ll be volunteering there again too - helping in the plant creche (where I met @Allotment Boy last year šŸ˜€)…..but not sure what day yet.

    A late good morning.

The sun has now got out after a misty start and it looks set to be another nice day.
Just got back from flower arranging in church ready for the service tomorrow so now enjoying a coffee before tackling some garden jobs.

Ive got some heuchera growing that I salvaged last season and I’m hoping it takes and survives the vine weevils, which tend to go for it in the pots. I might try putting some directly into the ground to see if it fares any better.

I’ve never been to any of the flower shows, though maybe one day.

Which day are you going to Hampton Court @chicky? We are going on the Wednesday. Are you going twice, once for a visit and again for the plant creche?

We are having a quiet day.

Yes, going twice @Busy-Lizzie - probably the Tuesday for a look around and then volunteering either Friday or Saturday.

Evening all, just spent a very happy day pottering in the garden again in the sunshine.
Finally cut down all the old perennial shoots as I can see new ones coming through and have put the supports in place. I seem to have amassed a huge collection of various metal supports over the years.

Again, the neighbourhood has been very quiet, think most people must be away. Unusually we have no family visiting this year which is rather nice for a change, means we can do precisely what we feel like!Ā

That sounds a horrendous shift @AuntyRach, hope you are relaxing now.

We aren't having Easter eggs tomorrow, but we have plenty of MaltesersĀ Vishenka_09

Did precious little until after lunch. I'm not a morning person, often don't get going till after lunch!

I raked and swept the back patio, a job I hate because somebody made it with large gravel and paving stones and next door's horrid Leylandii drops bits all over it which are difficult to get up on the gravel bits.

I've cleaned all the kitchen cupboard doors and white things and cleaned the oven, another job I hate. Couldn't get all the brown splashes off the glass door but it's better than it was. Made Cottage pie for dinner.

    Evening.Ā

I hope everyone is ok. You know the gardening season is in full swing when grubby nails, blisters, aching backs, arm scrams and bits of twig in the hair start appearing! Love it though!Ā

Curry tonight. It’s my home made ā€˜version’ with whole chicken thighs coated in spices with a little of the sauce poured over halfway through roasting. So tasty!Ā
