Hope you donāt have to wait too long @punkdoc. Ā Round here NHS are doing hips with about a 3 month wait (Mr C accepted a cancellation and was in within a fortnight so fingers crossed).
Have been dreading today. Ā Taking littlest Chicklet to the airport to wave her off on her backpacking adventure. Ā Wonāt see her again til August. Ā Sheās on her own for the first few weeks, then meeting a friend in Vietnam. Ā Feeling sick, but need to pull my big girl pants on. Ā I can only shed tears once she has headed airside and is out of sight.
Not sure anyone ever taught me about this bit in the parenting contract š«
Sunny and bright but the temperature has dropped here too @floralies Ā The wind got up again yesterday afternoon, but I had the chance to do a quick weed spray yesterday morning. Ā There's quite a nippy chill in the air.
Running around a bit getting ready for Easter. Ā Markets this morning to pick up some organic asparagus from a local grower @12.90/kg!! Ā Oh well, just this time and they are the first shoots. Ā Nice and tender!!
Good news @punkdoc Bit of a wait. Ā I had a seven month wait (summer holidays in the middle of this for the surgeon who is fact goes to Queenstown, NZ in August to ski!!). Ā I think @floralies was in the right place at the right time.
Where is your daughter heading first @chicky to be on her own for 2 weeks? Ā I bid her well.
I hope you all have a pleasant day and that the weather is clement where you are.
Today being the 5th: Ā A la Saint IrĆØne, s'il fait beau Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Il y a aura moins de vin que d'eau !!
Heading to your homeland, New Zealand first - for a month. Ā She is booked on a bus tour (sort of hop on/hop off] that takes her from North to South, so Iām sure sheāll meet people en route. š¤š»
Sorry, been AWOL, in the UK with my friend, who is/was badly in need of support. Signal in her village very shaky and didn't help I forgot to take my French/English adapter to charge up the phone. š
Anyway, we've chatted for hours and she has an exit strategy planned for her very tricky situation. I was so glad to hear that, I was worried she'd try and stick it out but she's realised what a very dangerous position she's in and knows there's no way it can ever get better. Very sad, but hopefully all will be sorted out soon.Ā
Charlie's dad finally got discharged from hospital. He's got lots of tablets, he been told he's diabetic as well as having a weak heart and is having to wear a cardiac vest all the time, with some sort of alarm that will give his heart an electric shock should it be needed. I don't know the full details, but he seems to think everything is fine and back to normal now......š
Air traffic controllers not withstanding, I fly back tonight. Busy weekend ahead with Easter, so fingers crossed no delays.Ā
I've managed to read back and happy to see everyone seems to be happy (magnolia lovers notwithstanding) Belated Happy Birthday @WonkyWomble. Good decision @punkdoc.Ā
Hope to be back chatting again soon.Ā
Good day all.Ā
āCoffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?ā āBetsy CaƱas Garmon
Given time you could probably have had some lovely sweet blackberries @Hostafan1 ⦠but probably too long to wait, given that you can probably pick plenty from the hedgerows around your estate šĀ
Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Rain today so indoor jobs for me, hopefully paving the way for a weekend of garden jobs when the forecast is better.Ā
Youāve been a true friend there @D0rdogne_Damsel. I havenāt seen those Cardiac Vests here as most people who have that condition have an implant procedure (a bit like a pacemaker).Ā
An emotional day for you @chicky, but a wonderful adventure for your chicklet.Ā
Crumbs the asparagus price @tui34! so anyone growing that successfully is on a winner!Ā
We were talking in work about having lamb for Easter weekend and my colleague said it would cost around Ā£30 for a joint for her family - eek!Ā
@auntyrach leg of lamb is half price in sainsburys at the moment.... got a beauty for under £15. I hope you have some better weather for your few days off work!
