I was just about to go outside during a sunny period to plant the herbs I bought this morning when Daughter 1 rang. We had a good chat then I went outside. I was in the middle of planting when I was caught in heavy hail. Made a dash for the shed. Then it started to rain, waited for a bit then made a dash for the kitchen. Got wet.
Evening all. A friend called on Saturday night when I was feeling particularly low. I almost didn't answer the phone. Today I drove to Exeter to visit her for a cuppa and a chat . I looked after her garden for 15 when we were " up country ". Her son called her whilst I was there and she told him I was visiting. He jumped in his car with his son and came to say hello. Then her daughter arrived with her 3 sons and we walked into Exeter for a lovely lunch. A shopper had fallen over and my friend's daughter ( a doctor ) tended to her whilst we took the boys on to the restaurant. The poor waitress managed to get our order totally wrong so they had to make everything again for us. A much longer lunch than planned but lots of lovely chat. I'm just home now and feeling SO much better. To think I almost called this morning to " bail " . I've had a lovely day.
Hi again, what a washout, the rain finally stopped late afternoon but too wet to do much. We spent some time sorting through packets of flower seeds this morning. They are mostly freebies we get with the GW mag, I probably wouldn't buy most of them so why do I feel compelled to sow and grow them 🤔 Anyhow I have sown some this pm. We just had salmon en crute for dinner, half price in Sainsbugs, in fact we got several bargains today including a full leg of Lamb as mentioned by Wonky and others, still half price, so the freezer is full again. Glad you had such a positive visit @Hostafan1 , wish I was nearby to you @punkdoc, most of my Dahlias have gone to mush so will have to re-stock. I only grow a few for cut flowers though.

We slept quite well last night thanks @Lizzie27.
I don't just feel dumpy next to my slender daughters @didyw, I am dumpy. I always put on weight in England.
