@D0rdogne_Damsel I also agree with what everyone else has said. Well done for selling the car.
It was a pleasant sunny morning. I did some weeding and edging and planted my new salvia Mainacht and moved a hosta that was in danger of being smothered by a fern.
This afternoon we went to Sainsbugs as OH wanted a new jacket, waterproof but not as warm as his winter one. They had nothing much but as we were there we decided to do a food shop. Then we went to a sports shop and they had just what OH wanted and it was 50% off in their sale.

We should be heading for bed by now but feeling rather stunned and depressed after watching Simon Schama on the British Empire. I wasn't taught any of that at school.
Good morning all ☕️ and hello @Pat E 😊 I finished sewing up a winter jumper for my son yesterday (identical to one he lost in the fire) and am waiting for the wool to start another … so I will also be knitting some fingerless gloves … these will be for Wonky to wear at work next winter.

pretty miserable here, not going to do any gardening today and a good thing too: full of pains and aches I am. I don't remember last time I spent a day without some pain somewhere in the body. It is quite depressing, I am only 60. What's going to be like in ten years' time? if I get there of course.
Gosh @D0rdogne_Damsel you don't get bored, do you? I am glad that you sold your car for the price you wanted and that, after all, nothing serious happened to your son.
Sorry you are aching so much @coccinella. Do you take painkillers? Is it arthritis?
I'm going to look for a cheap metal hanging basket today. NDN's cat almost destroyed my Walkers Low catmint last year and I think it was @Lizzie27 who suggested protecting it with an upside down hanging basket.

Early start today to get to cash & carry and then back to CdeG for an 8 am delivery. Quite satisfying to have two big jobs out of the way by 9 am. 😁
Even managed to trim some shrubs at the same time. Have to do it whilst I'm walking past otherwise it never happens.
School hols here so expect to be busy again, although rain forecast for today.
Charlie is now in Florence for 3 days and having a great time, says it's beautiful. He's a massive fan of history so enjoyed the monuments in Rome, they go back at the end of the holiday for another 3 days I think. Pisa and Pompeii are also in the list. Glad he's having fun after a tricky start.

@D0rdogne_Damsel … we took Wonky and her brother to Florence when her brother was about Charlie’s age. We loved the architecture and the art, son just loved being in Italy, and we have a photo of Wonky with her cardigan over her head saying there was ‘too much’ of everything. 😂
