Hi folks,  Phew!  The boys and Secondborn have just left.  Jonah and Gabriel had a good time with us.  First chocolate birthday cake and presents. We then went to a big soft play barn where they ran riot for about 2 hours.  Came back and had tea and then a bit of quiet time on their tablets before going home.  Planning on a relaxing evening.

    Evening all,

Another busy working week - looks like there could be personnel changes afoot and I might well not last much longer either. I only agreed to do it as a favour on a 3-days a week basis doing certain specific tasks. I've been working more than 3 days/wk, I'm doing tasks outside those agreed and now the person that I was doing the favour for is leaving. There's not much left to make me stay on.

Managed a round of golf this morning. first of this year. The weather forecast suggested that we'd get wet but it stopped raining just as we got out of the car and stayed fine throughout! Sun even came out towards the end of the round.

Supposed to get very Marti tomorrow, unfortunately.

We are back from the country fair, having stopped at the community pub on the way home.

I said Show this morning I think, but it was a Country Fair. There were lots of stalls with country clothing, even plus fours! Thought they went out with the ark. Loads of food and drink stalls, machinery, and everything you could possibly want for your dog. There was horse boarding, scurry racing (ponies with carts), dog competitions and races, a cookery tent etc. It was fun. We had a really nice chicken tandoori with rice and salad for lunch and I had a pint of Pimms and OH had a pint of cider. Good thing there were plenty of loos! We had Mr Whippy ices with chocolate flakes too. The weather was much better than forecast.

    Good morning.

LB, I'm so glad that you got your car back. Hope they made a proper job and you are satisfied.

Hazel, my dahlias are all out, but they look very miserable this year. Maybe it's because unusually cold weather so far.

One more proper sunny and spring morning. I have my tea on the balcony, and it's quite nice outside. Pets are, off course, all fed, and we will have very lazy Sunday.

    Wish you all nice day!

A very good morning Ante and all arriving later.
Ante, it was so exciting getting back into my own car and driving again - made me realise how uncomfortable the courtesy car was and I think the driving seat in that car added to my back and hip problem - seems a little easier today. Its a bit overcast here but fingers crossed it gets to be sunny later. Lily has been fed and is sleeping on my right leg at the moment.
Yvie, brilliant idea about the play barn - let the small people wear themselves out! I like your style!
Biglad, I was wondering how you were going on with the last 'job'. It sounds as if you have made your mind up about that - or has it been made up for you?
Busy a PINT of Pimms! I would have been unconscious! Love the pictures and it sounds like you had a brilliant day.

Morning all. Haven't been out yet but there's a stiff breeze blowing and it's very overcast.
LB,you may well be right in that the new car won't have helped your hip or been the cause of the hip problems, coupled with all the gardening you've been doing. We sometimes push our bodies beyond where they're capable as we get older and then we pay for it☺️
I have to get the hot metal thing out today and then I must tie in clematis Jackmanii as the growth tips are heading for the sky.OH saw the first blue tit on the feeding pole nuts, hurray!
  • Afties all.  LB glad you’re more comfortable in your car.  I’ve had a stiff neck for a few days and had difficulty resting.  Ante lovely to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view.  Glad you enjoyed being out with Max.   Hazel good that the birds are using the feeder.  Rosie.

Hello all. We are having a quiet day after yesterday.

Slow cooked lamb shank for dinner tonight.
I'll be sitting in front of the hot metal thing in front of the TV this afternoon.
There has just been an April shower.
