Good morning Rosie, Ruby and Busy.
Rosie I have to 'fess up that I have never eaten a sweet potato. How do you cook yours? Do you make them into chips? I never make chips so would like to know any other things you can do with sweet potatoes.
Ruby and Busy it is similar here weather wise. Too cold to go outside yet so I have Lily's TV on - perfect day for that task. It may warm up a little this afternoon.
I had forgotten that I am getting a call from VM at 11:00 today. I can't wait!
Busy, once your OH can sleep on his side it may help with the snoring problem.

Morning all. Woke up to white world too today. We had left some plants out which should have been put back in greenhouse( we're hardening them off) but they seem to have survived so may plant them out now and protect with a dome.
OH not happy this morning, his TT session has been cancelled again, overbooked by some incompetent, and he does enjoy this weekly session very much. I'll take him out instead🤭
The suns coming out so hopefully we can spend some time in the garden.
Biglad, not many left (🙄) to deliver. I did the Census drop once, that was enough for me. All for £10 fee.
Take care anyone going out in case of slippy places and wrap up warm.
Rosie, sorry to hear you had a migraine, they are very debilitating aren't they? Enjoy your mooch round the SM with dad.
    catch you later folks,

You can do lots of things with sweet potatoes, LB. Roast them, mash them, bake them with fillings like baked potatoes, add to curries, chicken traybakes, soups, veg casseroles etc.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

More stuff to do this week now, we are looking after 23 on Thursday AM so will have to take him to SM to pick up an order whilst waiting for a call back from surgery, phew!
Popped into SM this morning for nothing much and came out with a lovely wee clematis called Mrs G Jackman. It will fill a gap up a new arbor we installed last year. Then a quick trip into town for some FBB and plant fertiliser and have been in garden since getting back home. Taking a well earned rest for now🥱

Just got back from the GC and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea there. Of course, it was then necessary to have a look at the plants 😅, and I came away with 3 trailing ivy geraniums, 2 pink, one lilac to replace the ones I had last year (and the year before) that look quite dead, despite over wintering in the shed. I did take cuttings of the ones that look dead and one of those has taken (which I kept indoors), but as I say, the others look dead to me so I’ve bought these 3 new ones today. I will take cuttings of these later in the summer and will over winter in the house for next year - lesson learnt!

We watched the last episode of Grace this afternoon. Has anyone else watched it yet.
Sounds like a busy day @Songbird-2 have a relaxing evening.
@rubee it's been sunny here too, doesn't make you feel better than all those grey wet days we've had.
@Redmaple glad you enjoyed your afternoon at the GC and found some goodies to bring home.
  • Lily had a look at the plants at the sm, a lovely selection of camellias.  My uncle was doing his shop too so caught up.  Migraine much improved thank you.  LB I tend to micro the sweet potato and have it with cheese and you can have without butter if you wish so can be an alternative.  They don’t make good chips though.  Hazel put your feet up after your endeavours.  Just going to pop down for some tonic water, feel really thirst.

We went to Wickes this afternoon to look at pavers for the front path which is getting very uneven as the bricks they used before have been breaking up in the frosts. Also looked at paving stones, sandstone, to make the patio slightly bigger.

Good evening everyone. Thanks Busy and Rosie for the sweet potato tips - they are some lovely suggestions there.
Gosh Hazel, even more tasks added to the week but I know you will enjoy looking after 23 - hope he has finished up chucking though!
Red maple, I love ivy leaved pelargoniums - they always remind me of a wonderful, summer holiday I had in Austria - every house and chalet dripped with them. I have always found them difficult to propagate.
Ruby and SGL you are so right about how lovely it has been today and how it lifts the spirits.
SGL I have watched Grace - lots of unfinished ends that will probably lead to the next series. No spoilers.
Rosie, were you not tempted by the camellias? I think I might have succumbed to temptation!
Busy, I hope that you will find a nice strong person to help you with lifting and delivering those heavy items when you make your final decision.
