Well we had some rain here in Kent today, and all of the older open blooms on Penelope have shattered. One new one left intact with no new buds or new looking growth.
...I think, I'll just put everything that says "strong fragrance" in my basket tomorrow... Not an option of course. How do you rule out certain roses when all you got is lovely pictures and some fancy description. Or, worse, no description which fuels my imagination.
Tried to use logic and say to myself, look, this colour is already here, that colour does not look good in that spot etc. Ah, it does not work.
This colour combination did work. But Magda is almost over.
Said it before, a hard worker not appreciated enough because it is so unfussy.
The edible rose. Not that I have tried it yet. After 2 days of 30+ degrees and prior rain. Not in prime condition but not worse enough to be deadheaded by my standards.
Bought in 2016 as "white ground cover". Well, it is illiterate. Or my understanding of ground covering habit is wrong. Growth up to 100cm. Stops cornflowers from flopping to the ground though.
My first rose. Little to none did I know. Would I buy it again? Probably not. Nothing wrong with it. Just boring.
Pierre de Ronsard at this stage reminds me of the dust collecting bride bouquets some people keep for ever and ever. Hopefully, only the bouquet is dusty and rusty.
One of the view roses that look exactly the same in real life as in the online shop picture. I am still experimenting how to combine it best to show off this amazing hue.
Enough procrastination. Decision time for my bare root order.
I came home after being away for 2 weeks to plants seriously in need of watering and deadheading. I'll have to do that tomorrow. Looks like nothing has died as of yet, as most of my roses are potted. And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Sommergold, Ingrid Bergman and Doublge Delight which is my rescue rose, doing really well after my neighbour looked after it last week while I was on hols.
Just to let you know: Munstead Wood, Lady Emma Hamilton etc. are shown as available on TCL website. When trying to add to cart, they show up as sold out. I daresay the website wasn't updated after the DA purge.
@crighton03 give them a ring. Explain a newly released potted rose is not worth £33.50 plus postage to you if tiny and without buds. I'd ask for a refund as I don't think the replacement is likely to be anything to write home about.
@Elbfee orders seem to have opened at 10pm UK time last night because lots of people have been posting gloating posts on Facebook about nabbing five Judes, three Munsteads, etc. Sorry you missed out, but I expect the profiteers were onto it since Munstead Wood is selling for up to £146 on eBay over here (and that was just this year).

Whether they materialise is another matter.
