I’ve had a few comments from various delivery people and passers by alright. I’ve about 16 big pots now split between 2 tulips, Finola (I love it- starts creamy pink and gets darker over time) and Purple Sensation. And that skinny border with the Daffs is now being taken over by them too. Have no idea what I’m going to do with it afterwards- bulbs were my kick for touch plan.
@Nollie - I’ve got clematis planted much closer than probably would be advised to roses. Just out of necessity. It’s either that or not have them. Actually Etoile Violette and Julia Correvon are spaced quite reasonably. Whereas Arabella is only a foot away from Lady of Shalott - too soon to tell if it’ll negatively impact on them. With Lady being the established plant though it would probably be the clematis that would struggle rather than the other way around.
We’re on holiday in The Lakes at the moment. Which is absolutely beautiful and we’ve been fortunate to end up with much better weather than originally forecast.
Wherever I am though I can’t help wondering how things are doing in the garden at home! Tadpoles too, hope they’re ok.
@Newbie77 glorious. How old are those īmagnolias of yours? Easily the prettiest blossom of any tree.
@ciaranmcgrenera great front porch! A lady around here had similar last summer but instead it was dozens of dahlia Café au Lait at all heights... it was glorious, like millions of stalactites and stalagmites.
Not sure if Lady Emma Hamilton is feeling undernourished or if this is her usual foliage. Could anyone who knows this rose please advise? She will get a rotted manure mulch if the school holidays ever come to an end.
@WAMS, I am not sure how old are those magnolias as they were planted by previous to previous owners. I feel very fortunate to inherit all these Camellias and Magnolias.
My Lady Emma keeps looking sickly in different ways over the year but blooms anyway. Yours is looking good.
@Marlorena, some promising buds. This time of year goes really fast for me. It will be mid May when I will get impatient.
@Mr. Vine Eye, is it Lake district? Very beautiful place. I once went in May, saw so many amazing Rhododendrons and Hosta but it rained every single day I was there.

Thought it was too good to be true. And a bit naughty by Westland I might add.
