@ElbFee and JessicaS, totally charming gardens. I am envious of your lilacky purple polyanthus, Jessica, have been looking for that exact shade at the GC! And I can imagine having a cup of coffee at your wee table there. And @alexryzawlskiqBU-X4OF some lovely looking roses there.
What should we do with new shoots on roses that are showing signs of frost damage, please? Nip them off or leave them be? A new rose from a nursery which is looking a bit blackish in places- can't upload photo, forum may be having photo probs
^ Some fabulous gardens from Jessica and Elbfee an an impressive potted display from Newbie. My rose growth has exploded after a warm spell followed by rain, will post some phots soon.
I’ve been busy clipping Smudge this morning, bit of a battle! I tried to recreate my spontaneous dog art with the clippings. I don’t think it’s as good as the first one I did of Bill, but does capture her puppy madness a bit..
Said pup kept disturbing her doppelganger!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Lots of lovely growth Nollie... The Prince looks rather leggy, perhaps best that way... I do like the foliage on Love Song in particular..
'Eustacia Vye' This used to grow wider than tall for me, now it's turned itself into a stiffer, more upright shrub, almost hybrid tea like.. I'm very pleased with 'Elizabeth' so far.. Rhodanthemum 'Marrakech'..
Oh, figured it out, the forum isn't accepting HEIC image files, which is what my phone takes. What is your red climber at the back, @newbie77?
Are rose canes always sick when they are a yellowish colour? This is a potted one I got recently... Grand Award... awaiting planting out. Has a yellowish hue to the canes but lots of healthy leaves further up the cane (please excuse background mess... ivy massacre is underway).
I want to join in so thought I'd show a couple of the roses that have recently been mentioned. Purple Lodge/Palais Biron was a new bare root end DecBring Me Sunshine had a very awkward habit last year but has sent out a basal which may helpSpecial Anniversary is one of a trio of pink roses probably only one of which will be kept (others Fragonnard and Savoy Hotel) but is winning on attractive foliage at the moment.General shot of progress, the wellies are now hidden by foliage! The fairy ring has moved into daffodil phase

In my previous garden I had DA climbing rose in large pots with obelisks. I cant find closer photo, but you can see those in far end of this photo.
It was one rose per pot and that was enough for this display. It did need very regular watering to stay good.

I like your pink rose there very much, the last photo.. I'd be very pleased if I found that in my garden..
Back to roses, a selection of new growth in the East Garden - all this has burst forth only in the last few days:
Astronomia, this will soon get much wider, needs a hard winter prune to control:
Mme. Antoine Mari, naturally elegant needing only the lightest of tidying:
Palais Biron, very vigorous once it gets going:
Guy Savoy has replaced Excellenz von Schubert (now potted), it will regrow tall:
The Prince, in a large pot:
Ivor’s Rose, in a too small trough, could be thrice this size:
'Eustacia Vye'
