@Tack your climbers are so beautiful! I have Strawberry Hill and Claire Austin on my long (rather than short) list.
@dabolem I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your pet and health issues, but glad you can still find moments of joy through your roses.
@Nollie your roses are stunning, so rich in colour and velvety.
I have started the tea experiment as well as squishing the aphids when I check the roses. It just struck me though that I drink decaf, is it the caffeine that makes it work?
@dabolem, you have been through a lot, hopefully things will get better soon. Take your time and then slowly give garden a tlc. Soon it will be back in full swing.
@Nollie, that The Prince photo is suitable for a calendar. Very sumptuous!
@Tack, every time I see your strawberry hill, I feel so guilty about neglecting mine. That rose is doing fantastic in your care.
Thanks everybody for the kind words, it’s been a very long and grim period of time, let’s hope things keep going better from now on.
And as usual I am utterly envious of Nollie’s The Prince, of Tack’s Strawberry Hills and of Marlorena’s Mutabilis! Though most of the roses I seen posted here make me drool, to be honest 🥰
Nice to see you again @dabolem and like others, sorry to hear of your problems with various issues... hope for a better year ahead.. My 'Mutabilis' is turning into a bit of a monster already.. but I'm keeping it manageable so far..
I think some of us will have some blooms to show this weekend, as a touch of warmer weather arrives.. nothing to match 'Canary Bird' though..
The large blooms on The Prince often have weak necks, which is it’s only fault really. Depends if you can tolerate that or not. May be stronger or perhaps less noticeable grown as a shrub in open ground and I tried to get another one to try that. I got sent WS2000 instead and now they are like gold dust in Europe. Glad TW got a license to sell it, at least.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Crépuscule seems a very willing bloomer, but I do wonder if I have the right rose or if this is just early teething issues. Buds start off a creamy green and resulting blooms are essentially pale lemon. There was a hint of apricot in earlier blooms, but nothing like the typical colour on HMF examples. Temperatures have been in the 20s from budding stage, nights mostly above 10c, currently mid to high 20s. Potting mix is neutral to acidic.
@edhelka does/did yours start off like this? Anyone else have any experience of it?

@Tack thanks for your recommendations! All of them are beautiful but Strawberry Hill looks amazing, I’ll definitely put it on my short list. How long do you roughly get flowering for Strawberry Hill and Claire Austin?
@Nollie I've never seen a 'Crepuscule' with that colour, although what you have I find quite attractive, but even photos from warm climates mostly have some apricot in them.. did you get the typical bronze red foliage early on? it's very striking on this rose, like so many of course..
If you get fed up with it, perhaps 'Reve d'Or' might be to your liking? if you're a fan of Paul Zimmermann, he preferred this rose..
edit to add, I've actually found one on Instagram that looks almost white, just like yours.. seems to be somebody in France, growing on an obelisk.. I've linked here but it may not show up.. https://www.instagram.com/p/CUj5U4WrbE6/
It’s rather pretty, I agree! The photo did show up thanks Marlorena, interesting. Of course it’s possible the French person also bought theirs from Loubert and there was a mix-up there..
No, I recall a touch of red to early growth possibly, but not the distinctive bronzing you describe. Leaves are green, quite small and scrappy, sepals curl very strongly back on themselves, some apricot/pink streaking earlier evident in the blooms spoilt by a bit of rain:

@Newbie_greenie SH bloomed 18th May till November last year, CA from 25 May till Nov but much more sparsely latterly. SH is in full sun though and CA in partial shade. SH in October
