I think I must be crazy....I know I like a challenge but this morning I dug over a flower bed with a bad shoulder....a very big flower bed. Then this afternoon I sawed down a huge apple tree by hand saw.... Took me two and a half hours.... For shoulder therapy I wouldn't recommend such activities usually @Lizzie27 , but as I need to keep busy and overcome things at three moment, it wasn't a bad activity to keep warm at least... It took two and a half hours.

Glad you managed to get Gabriel his asthma treatment @Yviestevie, it's working that it should be such an ordeal to get hold of, good for you for emphasising his age and the importance!

@Dovefromabove, steak, she and chestnut mushrooms have been in the slow cooker over night and will be turned into pies for when I visit on Sunday... Looking forward to seeing your lovely flowers, how kind of Robs work friends to think of you x

Think I'll be joining you on the sofa @AuntyRach.... Teacakes sound good too! 🤔
    Have a lovely evening everyone!
  • I do enjoy reading some of the posts on this website.
I've never seen a flower bed with a bad shoulder, @WonkyWomble
But seriously, I hope yours improves. Thinking of you - and all the others with ailments.

You should try a fork or space next time.

Get some ‘muscle rub’ on that shoulder @WonkyWomble - works even better when someone else applies it 😉 (fact).

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Unfortunately it's a tendon thing I think... Long story.... but short of it is... Hubby's bacon is done when the smoke alarm goes off..... I'm short, ceilings are high.... He didn't hear so I'm left stood on a dresser in my slippers and saving myself with my arm outstretched instead of face planting into the wall while disarming said smoke alarm.....I don't have a dentist so despite the pain I think I went for the better option! Hubby loved his bacon was the bright side in this event! 🤣

Oh heck @WonkyWomble, you need to take care no good trying to top trump your bro!
Seriously maybe a cortisone injection or two needed, one of my plot neighbours came back from holiday early because of a shoulder injury, he  couldn't lift his arm up to chest height,  he thought he would need surgery,  two jabs later right as rain digging his plot happily 😉

Thanks for the advice @Allotment Boy..mm yes I've needed help getting in and out of jumpers for over a month... Can be interesting or a bit odd depending on if I'm at work or at home! 😉🤣

Wonky, your shoulder problem sounds like what I had. Thanks to the Physiotherapist, I can now lift my arm over my head. 🤭. I have exercises to do every day and that helps lots.

    Good morning all,

what are you up to @WonkyWomble? Here's coffee and croissant for you. I can add my little bit by saying that a cortisone injection in my lower back did me good. I'd say about 60 per cent less pain. If I do my floor exercises even better. I totally understand your need to be outside and work the soil: it is a balm for the soul. It's a compromise. I am sure those pies are going to be much appreciated by Dove!

It is still very cold and cloudy on top today. Meh.

Morning all. Dove lovely thought with the flowers, what does your son do work wise? I have heard of Broomfield. Lived near and worked sometimes (agency nursing) at The Queen Victoria Hospital,East Grinstead. Burns unit started up during the war, for the pilots,by Sir Archibald McIndoe. Specialist burns/plastic used by "stars" to have parts enlarged (talking of... anyone had the misfortune to see latest pictures of Katie Price... popped up news online on phone) the late great Cilla Black had her big facial mole removal there.
