Its a Sanderson from the Port Isaac range.  It's called beach huts and I've gone for the Marine colourway.  It's only going on one wall and the rest will be painted blue.  I've got white fittings and white paintwork.  I've seen a really nice round rope edged mirror that I like and I'm getting new stripy towels.

    Afternoon Forkers.

I presume it's a bathroom @Hostafan1 as Yvie has mentioned stripy towels! Sounds very swish as well.

We've had heavy snow all morning, about 2-3 inches have settled although it's started disappearing now following the sleety rain.  Despite the snow, my washing machine was delivered about 9 ish by a couple of very pleasant and capable men. I've tried it out and seems to work fine apart from 'walking' across the laundry cupboard floor which might be a problem - it's laminate over floorboards so not a solid floor.

Splendid news re your son @Dovefromabove.

I've spoken to the GP this morning and have been booked in for another steroid injection into my shoulder in two weeks time. It's not pleasant but bearable, hopefully it will give me at least 6 months (over the gardening season!) respite. Apparently it's arthritis in the joint.

I'm going to stick my neck out and say I admired Thatcher, there's not many politicians that have won three elections so no, not everybody disliked her. However I'll PM @D0rdogne_Damsel privately with my thoughts on the subject.

    Good afternoon all.

After a wet start this morning, the sun has come out and it is a balmy 20°C.

The bathroom deco sounds lovely @Yviestevie   Lovely news @Dovefromabove

I worked with an English teacher here some time ago who had a restaurant in London with his husband during MT regime.  He couldn't speak about MT with spitting - as they lost the restaurant through her taxing and interest rates.  I think she wrecked a lot of people's dreams.

    Enjoy your evening!

Yes, it is the bathroom @Hostafan1 Always fancied a coastal type room, thought about doing the conservatory in that style but went for a green/pink vintage theme, sort of merging it into the garden.

    Snowing but not settling.

The UK was in a bad way when Thatcher was first elected and needed a strong leader, which she was, but then she should have gone after the first term as she made a right mess of it after that for all the reasons mentioned before. Even the Queen didn't like her!

    Good afternoon,

It’s snowing here as I type. We’ve had light flurries on and off all afternoon, but so far it’s not sticking. More on the way tomorrow, apparently.

I’m calming down a bit now after doing my car insurance renewal. Had to change some details due to OH retirement, ie, let them know he’s no longer working but retired,  (he’s on my insurance), and so, quelle surprise, the original quote jumped up considerably. I queried this and managed to get it reduced but still higher than the original quote. My annoyance is, that nothing had changed other than my OH had retired. They really have you over a barrel, don’t they? 😡

So pleased to hear that your son is off the ventilator @Dovefromabove. That is good news 😁.

That's atrocious @Red maple. You should just have threatened to go elsewhere as that doesn't make sense. That always works when OH does it and we do move if that tactic doesn't work on the odd occasion. Did he use the car to travel to work at all?

Been snowing all day here but only just started to stick.  Hope it goes away soon as I don't want to miss my art class tomorrow morning.

Winter wonderland here too this morning @steephill.  Had to get Mr C to give me a lift to Citizens Advice in our trusty old Land Rover.  It’s on days like this that it’s worth it’s (considerable) weight in gold.  Didn’t stop people coming along for advice though- another busy day.

Our holiday wasn’t a special celebration, just a promise to ourselves to do as much travelling as we can in retirement, whilst we are still healthy and happy to jump on  and off planes.

Gardening lecture tonight has been cancelled due to the weather.  Shame, as I was looking forward to hearing about the superpowers of trees.  I’ll just have to book him in for next year instead.

Great milestone for your son @Dovefromabove - so pleased for you all.
