    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Happy thoughts will do just fine thank you @Pat E … and we’ll send some to you too 😊
It was a beautiful clear frosty morning a short while ago, but it’s clouding over a bit now. However thankfully I think we’ve seen the last of the snow … tomorrow is promised to be much milder. 😊

    Good morning all.

Extremely violent winds to be continued today.  Wind warnings have been out, trees and branches down and a narrow boat was blown sideways on the Canal du Midi yesterday, blocking the way.

@Hostafan1   A good step to make.  May your sorrow and sadness be eased.

Fantastic news from the girls brigade @Dovefromabove and @WonkyWomble  It's not easy to make those trips.  I'm so glad that you can have a conversation with Rob!!

Lunch here today - you're all invited.  Thai mussels entrée followed by a civet of wild boar with a robust red to wash it down, garlic parsley buttered green beans.  Red kidney potatoes which I will peel in zebra fashion and steam and to finish, I have made a fresh fruit salad.  Just a tin of pineapple to have some juice otherwise all fresh fruit .

So I'd better fly.  I hope you all have a pleasant enough day in snow and rain.  18°C here - sorry!!  Rain is expected thus the high temperature!

A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

Oh my word @tui34 that sounds marvellous … I love mussels … but I was just sitting down to a bowl full of moules marinere when I received that first awful phone call from the hospital on the 11th February … now I’ll never eat them without that memory … and my immense gratitude to the air ambulance crew and everyone who saved my son’s life 💙

What a fantastic surprise for you yesterday @Dovefromabove, no wonder you felt so emotional for the rest of the day. I had never heard of a 'speaking' tube either.
Sending hugs and best wishes to @Hostafan1, I hope you can get the help that you need.
@punkdoc not a very comforting near miss, best to keep away from your wooded area until the tree surgeon can get things checked for you I think. So glad you are safe though.
Snow flakes falling here most of the night but not really settling, thought that might be the end of it but no, this morning's forecast suggests that we may be due more snow on Wednesday!

Your lunch sounds delicious @tui34. I’m tempted to join you 😁.
    Excellent update, @Dovefromabove 👍🏼.
Lazy day here, plan to pop out for coffee and a browse round the shops then just potter at home and perhaps continue with my book.

Three really heartening pieces of news as I read back today: Dove talking to her son, Punkdoc escaping certain death and Hosta on the way to getting the help he needs.

    And its sunny outside.

Hello folks, yes, good news all round @didyw, except we haven't got sunshine!

Wasn't too bad this morning, only about 3.5c when we did our usual walk this morning but as I had four lots of layers on , I got quite warm on the way back home. OH caught the bus into town to meet his mates for a massive all day breakfast and a couple of pints. I'm so pleased he keeps in touch with previous work colleagues and has the occasional lads meet up. Means I get a bit of time to myself as well of course, essential I always think during a long marriage.

I forced myself out in the garden later although it had got colder and cut back an old ivy bush on the opposite verge outside our house. It seemed to have fallen forwards and I was in danger of hitting it in the car whilst turning left out of the drive, the lane's  basically only one car width in our bit. Being then a bit gung ho, I also cut back the corner of our hedge to improve our line of sight. It's always a bit unnerving to have to drive out blind.

It's raining now so I'm all tucked up in a blanket with a cuppa and some chocolate - bliss!

Enjoy your weekend folks and keep warm.

The sun came out which made it seem warmer. Rain and warmer weather is forecast so I fed the roses and weed killed the brick path. Something has been nibbling the violas in the long border.

This afternoon, instead of watching "Merlin" we watched Fairy Story about 2 little girls who took photos of fairies. I wish some of the actors nowadays spoke as clearly as Peter O'Toole. Now we are getting older our ears don't work as well as they used to.
