a lot happening during my day of absence. Yesterday morning I went to a demonstration of fruit tree pruning run by the local allotment association. It was good fun, great to see such a range of people, one young couple especially enthusiastic as they just got an allotment. Then we had a wild weekend at the local celtic festival, two late nights in a row and I am spent.
@Hostafan1 it take courage to ask for help. I did so last year (via zoom with a therapist in Norfolk) and it has been a lifesaver. I could not have coped mentally with my stay in hospital last summer without her help. Good decision, it will be tough at times, so a big hug to you. @Dovefromabove. I hope you have now settled after that wonderful shock. Wow. @punkdoc I am sorry. Sending hugs and a chocolate croissant when OH comes back from Auchan.
Good morning everyone, what a difference a day makes in so many ways. We have a nice bright sunny start here though the ground is very wet. Still better than Friday, when though dry the wind would cut you in two. I thought of Wonky when I was as the plots for an hour or so, I had so many layers on I could hardly move 😅 As ever from everyone a mix of news, some good some less so. Hope all troubles are soon resolved. Have a good rest of the weekend everyone.
Good morning, it’s grey but dry here this morning, and all the snow has gone, thank goodness. Not been outside yet, but it doesn’t feel as cold. Not sure what my plans are today, will take it as it comes. Have a good day.
Hahaha @Allotment Boy I've always said that a gardeners striptease, you really get your money's worth!! Lovely and sunny here today. Sowed tomato seeds yesterday and potted on my five rose cuttings that are now healthy little plants. More gardening today then a roast to cook for step womble. Followed this with five hours of ironing. Glad you had a great time @coccinella, doubts exhausting though. Have a lovely Sunday all
Good morning all. It’s grey and drizzly here. Some of the windows had condensation on the outside today so that can happen when the air outside is warmer than inside, either because the room is colder than outside (eg. for my unheated rooms) or the double glazing is very good at not loosing heat from inside and the outer pane does not ‘warm up’ so the warm, humid air condenses on the cooler outer window (often seen in new or really efficient glazing).
I hope all those with weather misery and damage are doing ok. I must say, I am fed up with Winter now. Still wearing double fleeces indoors and double quilts on the bed. It’s equinox time next weekend so I am hoping that brings a proper Spring feel. I remind myself of the times I got sun-kissed in April and think that this time next month I’ll be fiddling with seedlings and putting the polygreenhouse back up.
Hi Forkers, For some reason I'm feeling a bit down today. I have loads I could do but can't bring myself to do any of it. The decorator is coming to paint the bathroom on Wednesday, at least there wont be loads of stuff to move around. Sorry to hear about the damage to your garden @punkdoc
Not sure it will @WonkyWomble. We are have trouble with Secondborn's ex. He's refusing to abide by the court ruling to allow her to get the rest of her things from the house and he's changed the locks which the court order says he can't do until after he has allowed her access. The police can't do anything because it's a civil case so we simply don't know where to go with this. She can't afford to get into debt by hiring a solicitor she's still paying off her debt for the actual divorce.
