    Hi all

    It is Baltic out there.
Went out to do some weeding, but have given up.

    Morning all,
Very grey and calm out there. Will be walking to the hairdressers shortly, so think I’ll need to wrap up - really looking forward to the days when you can go outside without having to wrap up warmly first.
Pleased you managed a good sleep @Dovefromabove. It will have done you good.
Have the best day you can folks.

Morning all,  it's cold here as well but perhaps warmer than Sheffield! I'm fed up with this dreary, chilly weather but I can see the cherry blossom beginning to blossom from the window and one or two blooms on the magnolia stellata. Hope they don't get blasted by any frost.

Sounds a very exhausting day @Dovefromabove. Time to put your feet up perhaps.

What kind of gardening are you having to do at the moment @WonkyWomble? I've come to a full stop as it's too cold and I've got very little energy. I've also got a shoulder problem, it's so painful isn't it so you have my sympathy? I'm waiting for a telephone consultation with the GP to see if another steroid injection might help.

We enjoyed the visit from DIL and grandson but my, how he's grown since Xmas!
He must be about 5ft 8 now, soon will be taller than his Dad. They left early this morning before we were awake but we'll see them again in a few weeks time.

Enjoy your visitors @D0rdogne_Damsel, sounds like fun.

Hi folks,  Just popped on to catch up with the chat and see how everyone is doing.  The cold weather seems to be the main topic of conversation.  I'm also sick to death of feeling cold.  Popped out this morning to pick up a couple of things from the local co-op and spent quite a bit of time in Boots trying to get Gabriel's prescription filled.  He has to have a powder for his asthma every evening and Secondborn has been having a problem getting hold of it.  They hadn't got it at Boots but when I explained that it was for a 4 year old asthmatic who would probably end up in hospital if he didn't get it she redoubled her efforts and, after a few phone calls, managed to get hold of some and said I could pick it up tomorrow.
Glad to hear that things are looking better for your son @Dovefromabove you must be feeling relieved that things are heading in the right direction.
Hugs for all those that need one.

Good result at the chemists @Yviestevie.  It just isn't as straightforward to get our meds these days as it was pre-covid is it?

I had to have a slave cylinder replaced @Dovefromabove - were you finding it difficult to get into gear?  Glad you got home safe and sound eventually and that the visit was hopeful.  Over halfway to the target on the fundraiser!

Hats off to everyone doing gardening today - far too cold for me.

    Hello all.

I'm glad Charlie has had a wonderful year @D0rdogne_Damsel. Time has gone so fast, he's becoming a young man.

Cold and grey here. The front garden brick path needs weeding and edging but I'm waiting for it to warm up. Knee has been playing up so not looking forward to kneeling on it.

    Good afternoon.

Cold here too.  We have sun but the wind is coming off the mountains and is quite bitter.  I don't want to say roll on summer as it will be as hot as last year and quite unbearable. Roll on spring!!

I looked up today's expression but decided not to publish it as it is quite daunting re the current cold weather!

Enjoy the last day of the week!!  It used to be fish and chip night once upon a time, but the fish and chip restaurant here has closed.  It was run by a young English lad and was sooooo good!!

    Afternoon all.

    How lovely @Dovefromabove 💐

Met a friend for coffee (and a massive tea cake) at a local independent GC this morning. Blimming freezing out there! I’ve visited Dad and ‘done’ his feet (diabetic check and moisturiser etc) plus been shopping for him and me, so that’s me on the sofa for the rest of the day.

    Have a good weekend all.

Good afternoon,  if you want to keep warm you can come and help me on my plots 😄. I'm still slowly getting through the old Asparagus bed but it's the bindweed that's slowing me down. Who said nothing grows in subsoil or solid clay? The bindweed obviously hasn't read that textbook.  I'm having to go down two spits and pick through every bit by hand,  it the main reason I  have started a fresh bed elsewhere appart from dwindling crop the old bed is infested with just about every perennial weed you can think of. The only thing I don't have is mare's tail thank goodness.
