Glad that people seem to be moving in the right direction.
Was amused to see on FB today that a (Spanish) friend had posted some pics from one of this friends taken this morning of fruit and veg piled high in Spanish supermarkets, followed by pics of empty shelves where there should be fruit and veg in British supermarkets. Brexit!
We only ever buy fruit and veg locally and most of it grown locally too so we're OK. (The sprouting broccoli on our veg patch is pathetic and the cavelo nero is still tiny). But completely aware that most people don't have the luxury of having time to toddle off to local independent greengrocers and farm shops - which are non-existent in most parts of the country.
Afternoon all, So much news on since I last posted so sorry if I forget anyone, it's just my lousy memory. @Dovefromabove and @WonkyWomble so glad things are progressing re your son/brother you must still be very worried so be kind to yourself. Please send me the link re Gofundme Glad to see @Punkdoc and @Hostafan still posting. Stick with us. @Busy-Lizzie I'm sure you saw my post on Rezzers re Hubby and friend. Hugs for everyone that needs them. I'm off to take Secondborn's bags to the charity shop that she kindly left in my car as apparently I have so much spare time to drop them off. Also planning to pop into Ashwoods to order seed and potting compost and some growbags for the cues and toms. I'm going to plant a courgette plant this year, can put it in the greenhouse or outside just wondering which is best. I think one will be enough judging by the comments on here about gluts. Stay warm and safe everyone.
I’ve been to the local town today to get some fish and some spices from the deli - I’ve seen a tasty looking chicken curry recipe for Sunday’s dinner, but lacked some of the ingredients. The fish is for tonight.
Back home now, and planning a lazy afternoon.
Sending hugs to all of you in need of one, and best wishes.
Afternoon folks, such a lot of posts to read back on! So very pleased that BL's OH has had his op at last, not surprised he's cheerful. Condolences though re the loss of your friend.
Hope Dove's visit to her son goes well and that he continues to progress.
Hugs to everyone else who's feeling poorly, which includes me this morning. Woke up in the night with vertigo again - really horrible so have spent the morning in bed. I'm up now for lunch but feel like my brain has four inches of cotton wool wrapped round it. OH has been to the pharmacy for the vertigo tablets I take, the old ones were way out of date. I think it was triggered by reading a book for three hours last night, I tend to read too fast so reckon it scrambles my brain! I had booked a table for lunch tomorrow as a treat for my friend who's 80 today but OH will have to drive as I won't be able to. He says he doesn't mind taking two old biddies out to lunch!
