Afternoon all, very cold here but no snow to speak of, just a few brief, light flurries. It’s very cold though but I managed to get some cloth things mostly dry which now only need a light air to finish them off. Did SM run today, too, because the heavier snow is forecast for Thursday here, which is when I tend to go, so thought it would be wiser to do it today instead. Yes, anyone out and about where there is snow, take extra care.
Good afternoon all. Well I have had an interesting day for sure. I went to 'sco as planned and whilst there got a call from Jack's daughter to say he had been transferred from Salford Royal back to nearer home as they hadn't found any neurological problems - good news! When Jackie knew where I was - courtesy of the loud tannoy system in the store - she asked if I could call into the hospital - as I pass it - on my way home and see if I could check on Jack. I couldn't promise to definitely do it as the parking is atrocious but I did try with no success plus I was thinking about my chilled items in the boot. I got home and received a text asking if I had managed to see Jack. I rang to explain. She was having to go to a funeral in Morecambe so I said that once the parcels I was expecting had arrived I would bus it down to the Infirmary and go and see what I could find out. This I duly did but it was mad busy. I was told that Jack (or John to give him his correct name) was in a corridor fairly near to A&E. I made my way there but there was just an empty space where his gurney should have been. Eventually I found out he had gone off for a scan but was told that I could wait as he wouldn't be too long. Famous last words! After an hour and frequent approaches from the staff to see if I was 'OK?' I gave up and wended my way home. That is an afternoon I won't see again. At least I know he is being dealt with. Thank you all for the kind wishes for him.
Red maple I managed to get Lily's TV on before I went off to the hospital and, as yours, the cloth things are almost dry now but I'm leaving them outside a little longer in the fresh air.
T'Bird, I saw some very pretty pictures of the snow in East Anglia on TV this morning. It is forecast here for Thursday - I hope they have got that wrong as its Food Bank day for Bestie and I.
@Biglad, my Choisya is looking OK - full of flower buds but who knows what it will look like after this forecast of freezing temperatures and snow over the next few days.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
That will be you jiggered now LB, all that coming and going waiting and checking is tiring work. But you are a very good neighbour and I'm sure Jackie will be very grateful for any help you can give. I've just been making it through the day the best way I can. No E consults available at all now, they've taken it off line. Have put in for a repeat prescription so will see. Other than that, I might try the drop in/walk in centre if things get bad. It's all so bad.
I've been to collect OH's hearing aid, replacement for the one he lost and it works better. Then I went to Tesco for a few things. This was part of the garden this morning. It has melted.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I am jiggered Hazel and so sorry to read about your difficulties. I do hope that you can get a repeat prescription sorted asap. It is terrible that the E consults have been taken offline. The sooner things get back to normal where seeing your own Doctor is concerned the better.
Busy, I am glad that your OH has got his hearing aid sorted too and what a LOVELY picture of your garden

The latest of my cacti to flower. Those with good vision (or the ability to make the picture bigger) will see that this cactus is called 'Ruby'. It has many more buds to grow and open. After 6 months of complete dryness the flowers on all my other cacti should appear more and more frequently so prepare to be inundated with more pictures.

Lovely picture Busy, I do like looking at snow, but not driving in it. Glad, you've managed to get an even better aid for your OH. That should make things easier for him now. LB, how beautiful is that little cactus flower! Gorgeous. I've never had a cactus that has flowered apart/from the run -of -the - mill Christmas cactus. OH and I just don't seem to have green fingers indoors😧 Ante, hope you managed to,pick up sister okay and that you've both made it back home, safe and sound. Time to relax We are supposed to going to mums next week. Don't know whether we will get here with health issues and weather being what they are. All ifs and buts and maybes.

Frosty here but I've been out for a bit and it's plenty warm enough in the sunshine.
Hope Jack is ok @Ladybird4. I think I know him better than most of my actual neighbours!
How are your choisyas doing? Mine are looking a bit sad. They don't seem keen on the cold and wet that I've introduced them to
LB, any news about Jack  yet.Â
