Morning all. Poor Jack, still on a trolley after all that time. LB, yes, it is very worrying to hear that news. I only hope he hangs on in there. We got a sprinkling of snow last but nothing this morning, like you LB, everywhere is iced over. Brrrr.
Terrible news about Jack's experience at the hospital. This government has a lot to answer for.  No plans for today. Art was cancelled due to weather so I'll be staying indoors. Have just been out to the woodshed to bring extra logs into the house and the fire is now roaring so we're nice and toasty in the sitting room. We had a supermarket shop delivery last night so we have everything we need and luckily I'm not on Nanna Duty until Saturday. Stay safe and warm everyone.
Snow overnight and rather cold. Â LB hope Jack gets a bed soon these shortages are awful. Â Wishing him well. Just finished a warming mug of tea. Â Keep warm all.
Good afternoon all. Another interesting day at the Food Bank. We were inspected by representatives from the Trussell Trust and also by a Health and Safety gentleman who wanted to know how we dealt with heavy bags (Tesco had donated us a trolley when we started in November 2021) and boxes of items on the higher shelves in the cupboards. This made me smile thinking about tall Biglad reaching stuff for us. We have tall people who can reach easily and we vertically challenged can cope with mid and low shelves.
One lady who came in only wanted toilet rolls and washing up liquid and another gent wanted toilet rolls and soup. Go figure!
The snow wasn't sticking when we finished at 12:00 but I told Bestie I was going to go straight home as the forecast had said that the snow would be worse late afternoon. It is certainly coming down in big flakes now. I wonder if I will wake up to a white out tomorrow morning.
Jack's daughter has rung me. He is now on a ward but they are talking of moving him to a stroke ward as they have found out from his scans that that is what happened early Monday morning. Apparently only a minor one. At least he is no longer stuck in a corridor. Poor Jack.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
We've had on and off snow all day. It was accumulating in the gardens but not on the road and has been thawing nicely in between the snow showers. I guess it depends on how much falls (when the temperature drops) overnight as to how badly we'll be affected. Eldest is at work for another couple of hours, so is hoping to be safely home before any surfaces get treacherous. She might work from home tomorrow.
I realised that I got the Advantage card around the time she and her sister were born. I was suddenly buying a lot of nappies! So it has lasted 25 years with me sitting on it in my back pocket and scraping ice off various cars with it Â
I'm due to give blood tomorrow so hoping the roads are clear for that. Otherwise, I'll be mostly residing in the CA with a blanket Â
Hope Ante is having a nice catch up with his sister. I am signing out for tonight people and I'll see you in the morning. Enjoy your evenings whatever you have planned.

My OH's brother had an appointment at the hospital this week but they phoned the afternoon before to say staff shortages and possible snow meant they were cancelling. Fortunately not life threatening, they rebooked.
I went for a scan after a phone consultation following one of those things that come through about Lungs. (I've got a bowel cancer kit lurking somewhere). They said they'd phone if they found something. I have a nodule on my thymus and will get an appointment from the fast-track cancer team. She said 'I know it's scary' but I replied I would be 'in neutral' until there was cause to worry. A 2nd mammogram a few years back turned out to be nothing so fingers crossed.

My OH had a bad night . He had his heavy bandaging changed yesterday which causes a lot of pain .
My OH had a bad night too. He finds sleeping on his back so hard. He's getting more mobile, still has crutches though.
When I looked out at 2am the garden was gleaming white in the moonlight but it has all melted now.
Poor Jack. I hope they find him a proper bed soon.
