That is good news indeed @KT53 and I echo Dove's best wishes.

My RTBC today is that OH has told me that we're generating more electricity from our solar panels than we're using.

Good news @KT53 … and our very best wishes to your  ‘Better Half’
    …  😳 I’ll get my coat 😉

'Er indoors would agree with your description so I'd better not argue the point.  I know already that I would lose :D

I needed to buy some ink for my big Epson photo printer and as it is a very old model it is getting harder to find it. I found a supplier who claimed to have 4 sets of original black and colour catridges at a quarter of the price others want. I ordered a couple and they have just turned up - genuine Epson cartridges! I have now ordered the remaining 2 sets :)

My cleaners have been and the whole house is sparkling!

One word of caution @steephill, I used to sell my used Canon cartridges to several buyers on Ebay (for what I considered to be a quite good price) so I suspect they may have been refilled with non-genuine ink. Still, its only coloured water isn't it and the price is ridiculous for what it is. Same price as champagne!

Sometimes cheaper to buy a cheap new printer that comes with a bit of ink.

@B3 I agree it can sometimes be cheaper, or at least more cost effective, to buy a new printer.  I doubt that is the case with a true photo printer.  I got rid of my Epson Photo Printer when a new set of ink, 7 if I remember right, came in at well over £100.  As I was no longer using it much I was wasting more ink on the cleaning cycles than I was using to print.

@B3, that's just what we've done. The ink head? needed cleaning so it stopped printing.
We assumed it would cost more to have it looked at (we didn't know how) than to buy a new machine with some ink in it. It grieves me however just to throw it away so I might take it to one of the local Repair Cafe's to see if they want it.

If I ever need to buy one again, I'd get one with a tank. The only thing I print off now is boarding passes - just in case.

OH refused to pay the price of a full set of HP cartridges the last time they ran out and bought an Epson printer for the same price complete with a set of refills.  The only problem is that it doesn't scan documents so we have to have both set up.

I have compared the new cartridges with a set I know is genuine and they are identical even down to the vacuum sealed packaging. Any "compatible" ones I have bought in the past always had their own branding even if they were refilled OEM cartridges. When I eventually have to replace the printer I will get one with refillable tanks, not cheap for an A3+ model. For the moment at least I can use up my stock of Super A3 photo paper, all I need to do is take a photo worth the effort of printing it.
