  I am glad I'm not living in Ukraine.
  I'm cheerful to be able to look out at the garden every day, and see the greenery, the colours, the restfulness.
  I'm grateful that I have a loving family.

  Thanks @AnniD for starting a new thread. I noticed today that my double Winky ( Woo) Columbine has started to make an appearance in the border. Have yours come through yet? Can't wait to see them again.

  No sign of them yet @Songbird-2, the garden did take a bit of a bashing with snow and very low temperatures for a week in early December. At least the bulbs are starting to peek through, that always lifts the spirits

  Hopefully they come through soon @AnniD. Most of our bulbs are through now, far too early, I just hope they all survive.

  Sunshine!  First time since those appalling cold days in early December tho, perversely, we've had some moonlit nights.   We're off to walk the dogs on a beach and I may just do a NY day+1 flower count.

  Sunshine makes such a difference doesn't it @, enjoy your walk on a beach with the dogs, I'm very envious.

  Thanks @Lizzie27.  We had a lovely time.  I haven't done it since before the new knee so it was extra special and the dogs were quite giddy.

  I’ve a streaming head cold and have almost lost my voice…reason to be cheerful? It’s not Covid, it’s not flu, I’ve a warm home to relax in with my OH and little to do until I feel better. Definitely counting my blessings.

  The article on radio 4 about relics. Love it. Apparently you can create a third class relic by touching it with a higher class relic. Christian relics are authenticated by a bishop (when did that structure start? Pre Constantine - so 100, 200 years after the main event that subsequent relics rely on?) - how did they authenticate them? Relics sell. Hmmmmm. Let me think about that - reminded me of It's a Wonderful Life when the bartender takes the mick out of good old Jimmy S by ringing up multiple times on the cash till - so the bell rang, saying 'hey get me, giving out wings' (paraphrased).

  Wasn't one of the commandments about graven images and idolatry? But presumably 'relics' don't count as they are not images? - so that's ok then.

  I think I'll contact Toby Jones and find out where that cup is, as I could start a nice little earner filling water bottles from it.
