We had some unnanounced rain yesterday pm - enough to keep me out of the garden - but today is cool enough to go and pull weeds for a while whilst the soil is softened and before it bakes again.
Wall to wall sunshine for the next 10 days at least and getting hot.
@B3 - we get yellow toadflaxlater in the year but I've never seen an insect on it. The purple stuff is few and far between here but the stachys lanata is in flower and full of assorted buzzies..

I have been PAIN FREE for a week!!! I'm high as a kite on happiness 😁. Also had my appointment with the Endocrinologist consultant, who was lovely,a real sweetie. The pain free part, means I can get on with the garden,go out. Hubby has had a really painful back,/rotator cuff, and some lurgy,so couldn't delegate, either.
Diggerboy's coming and I'm beyond excited. I can even see past there being hardly any milk and not one T bag. I don't drink T so what do I care. 🤠 Living life on the edge here or what?
Our neighbours have been away, now they're out! Sitting in the shade,it's 26.7c in the sun. Book and listening to: Miles Davis, Glen Miller,Amy Winehouse, David Bowie. Lovely breeze today. Total blue sky. Bird feeding station in front of me. In case you think I'm a total louch,I have done 2 lots of washing, folded, put away, ironing later, total bathroom clean, including shower head, hose, tiles, window sill. Moved peppers and stagging to top bigger greenhouse. Oh,and drinking cider!!!
The first leg of our flight to Helsinki on 12th June was delayed, so we missed our connection in Schiphol. So instead of spending an uncomfortable night in Helsinki airport, which should have been the result of choosing the cheapest possible flights, we stayed at KLM's expense in a rather plush hotel in Amsterdam, and still arrived at our destination in time to book in to our accommodation.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Diggerboy came and trashed the place! He dug a giant hole, pulled out six stumps and two small trees and buried them. The stuff out of the hole is now spread far and wide and the 'lawn' looks as if it has been strafed! The pampas grass is out and half way up the lane to next door as is the big ugly pointy thing (15ft high flowers and unstrimmable...maybe some kind of flax which was totally out of place). It's great. He's coming back if the weather behaves to roll it all with his quad+roller combination. When it all settles there will be sheugh clearing and maybe drainage piping but the logistics will need to be sorted. I'm not carting stones about in buckets! It's going to be great!
