  • Today I cleaned out the fridge and found some very old gravy.  I'm not planning to eat it, but maybe it might provide a design idea for a textile project...   :)

I never thought about taking photos of mould - but they do have their own beauty, in a strange way.

Does this mean the start of a new thread refrigerator growths!!?
  •  That mould reminds me of the pan a relative left on the stove. After it burnt out, she framed it and put it in the wall.  She was of the artistic persuasion.
Here we go on the artistic line again!!

Can't frame my mould, I'm afraid.  It got flushed down the loo...  I think it looks (looked!) like suede, or velvet.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • We have rain, here in Kent. That's great!!

So do we … in Norfolk … or we did have yesterday evening and overnight … the weeds are growing fast this morning … 😂

It looks like a 70s tea set design - not the weather map.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    It could be both!

Going home tomorrow with my new knee.  It'll be great to have some peace and quiet and sleep.   Hospitals are not restful but this team has done a great job again.

Hope everything goes well @Obelixx and you're soon up and about in the garden again.
I was talking to a guy today who went to Poland for a hip replacement.  He wanted it done in the UK but the alternatives were a 15 month wait or a cost of between £9k and £15k.  He paid £6k in Poland which covered the operation and all associated costs, 2 weeks intensive physio and 2 weeks full board, with meals from a local restaurant.  I would be apprehensive of going abroad but he felt he had no real choice.

It's fine so far thanks @KT53 - stiff where it's swollen so awkward to manouevre but that gets sorted with ice blocks to reduce the swelling and physio to get it all working again.   Pain management is good.   The knee bending machine is already at home and I'll do that for 3 weeks before going to 3 sessions of physio a week.   Expect to be back dancing after 3 months again and doing some gardening before then.

I have UK friends who are investigating paying for new hips rather than wait 2 or 3 years on a list and yes, it's expensive.   Hip replacements are simpler than knees, I'm told, so recovery is easier.
