Pottering about in the garden, in the sunshine has lifted my spirits. As my gardening neighbour said, It's good to make plans for the garden space, even if one can't do things immediately, as one would like. (he's a carer).
  • The sun is straining to shine through the morning mist, and there is promise of a day to get the garden a little tidy. If the rain stays away, I might even get to mow the lawn tomorrow - or at least, the area of grass and weeds that just about passes for a lawn!!

@rowlandscastle444 I'm hoping to mow my area of green tomorrow too, if the forecast holds good.  When I checked yesterday evening the forecast for our area was sunny on Wednesday - today it's changed to rain.

We do need a word for green area with a bit of grass, low -growing wildflowers and moss that you need to mow. Lawn doesn't seem appropriate. Green implies mostly  grass too
    Weedsward?

Maybe we ought to have a poll of people here, as to what their suggestions are.
I'm sure between us, we could come up with several suitable options, as well as dozens of amusing ones!!

Greensward so we don't have to admit it's mostly stuff we don't want but can't get rid of.

I'm not sure if this shoud be a RTBC or a Curmudg, but a few minutes ago my missus was looking out into the garden and said "That's a very big cat"  or words to that effect.  She was looking at a large ginger cat perched on top of the fence.  A second look determined that it was in fact a very big fox.  It's certainly the largest I've ever seen.  Back door rapidly closed, but it seems to have moved on anyway.
  • @KT53 I'd count it as a RTBC since I love spotting wildlife.  :)  I had a similar experience a few years ago when I spotted what I thought was someone's yellow labrador retriever loose in my neighbor's pasture.  After a few more sightings I realized it was in fact a very large blonde coyote.  No wonder it didn't come when I whistled!
