My wife has just been watching one of those ‘24 hours in A & E’ programmes. One of the patients was a lad aged about 10 who had injured himself falling out of a tree. “On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is just slightly annoying and 10 is excruciating agony, how bad is the pain?” asked the doctor.
”Hmm,” he said. “Let me think. I’ll go for 2.1”
The doctor explained what was going to happen next and then asked the boy if he had any questions. “Yes. Have you come across vaccine-deniers and did you think they were complete idiots?”
The boy was incredibly articulate and clearly akin to being a genius. The doctor seemed dumbfounded by the exchange and I doubt he had ever come across someone so quirkily original.
”At least this will be something to tell your friends at school” said his Mum, trying to be upbeat. His reply was so sad. “Maybe it is because of my Polish heritage but I don’t have any friends. I wish I did.”
With the credits at the end of the programme it said he had now transferred to secondary school, had made some friends and was much happier. A reason to be cheerful.
Today I cleaned out the fridge and found some very old gravy. I'm not planning to eat it, but maybe it might provide a design idea for a textile project...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Today I cleaned out the fridge and found some very old gravy.
Mmmm - yummy....
RTBC- When I was outside first thing this morning ,the sound of bees was really intense. 5 of the wedged inside one of the Lauren Grape poppies. All over each other because it was tight as it hadn't opened up properly. Fabulous in every way
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I don't see the problem. They are clearly socially distancing and there are no more than 6 people present. My appointment with SpecSavers is in the post.
That mould reminds me of the pan a relative left on the stove. After it burnt out, she framed it and put it in the wall. She was of the artistic persuasion.

Oh @li@Liriodendron it's enough to make your heart sing. I would have been proud to produce such a fine specimen! 😍 Perfect in every way.
