    MFI didn't respond to IKEA design or marketing and easy collect and easy return so their demise was self-inflicted, as with many other furniture ad fashion companies strugging or gone under.

    Also, their flat pack furniture was like an unlucky dip. There was always something missing

    Nothing to beat a nice snowfall @CrankyYankee. I love that silence  :)
    I was looking at some photos yesterday, because we were discussing a famous tree in one of my favourite glens,  and this is one of my favourites from that glen. It's a colour photo, and you can just make out the wreath at the foot. It was quite moving walking past it that day

    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    We ordered IKEA units for our new utility room, it was quite fun browsing  on line for what you need. We don't have one near us so had to be delivered, needless to say it is still in boxes waiting to be put together!

    We have installed Ikea kitchens / utility rooms in our last two houses, and love the design and practicality. Before that, we used MFI but also had continual problems with missing parts, used to drive us mad.
    @CrankyYankee, that was so poetic!

    Horrible when that happens @floralies. Glad the wee soul was fine  :)

    Nine times out of ten they are usually fine after their twenty minutes in the dark @Fairygirl :)
