Finally brilliant sunshine here. A bit windy but the temperature is clement. Unfortunately, time to clean the windows!!!
Last night, first exercise lesson of the year after a 2-week break. The thighs are feeling it this afternoon - ouch!! @Pat E Lovely photos. @Busy-Lizzie Glad you are safe and sound in Blighty after such a terrible trip. I hate driving in the rain AND at night AND fog. How ever did you manage to drive? The concentration is so draining. @coccinella I hope you get some satisfaction and support from the Cancer Association. I imagine there would be a waiting list in case someone desists, to see your endocrinologist. @punkdooc Sending support. @Hostafan1 Let the grief run its course. It does stay around for a while. Have you ever listened to Erkhart Tolle? It may help.

I am feeling better today, as soon as the results of the latest blood test arrive I shall go and see my GP. He should be able to lower my levels 🙄 Different countries, different systems: bedside manners inexistent here.
The weather is horrible, mild but rainy no sunshine at all for weeks on end. I made my bed here and now I have to lay on it and all that.
I too am going to England on Thursday to visit FIL who is going to be 90 but sadly he is not well at all. We are also going to see dear friends on the same trip, always a warm feeling. Fingers crossed trains will run.
I do hope all of you in difficult circumstances will have a good day, let's stay strong guys💪💪💪🌈🌈🌈
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Glad you’re feeling a bit better today @coccinella … sorry your FIL isn’t too good. They’re a worry as they get older aren’t they? 🤗 it’ll be good to see your friends … hope the travelling isn’t too difficult.
OH has work today, and I have a bit of shopping to do … we’ve just about finished the Christmas stockpile of food …

Good morning everyone, much brighter and drier start, unfortunately the ground is saturated, but I am going to the plots anyway. I haven't been since before Christmas.
Good afternoon Its been a dry day today with occasional sunshine, but clouding over a bit now. Finished tidying away the Xmas decs apart from the crib, although I did the majority yesterday. I’d left just a few lights to cheer the dining room last night but I’ve put them away now.
Evening all, it's been dry all day and we even had some sunshine which makes all the difference. Managed to continue the rose pruning before an early lunch then had a lovely relaxing facial, courtesy of one of OH's Xmas presies to me. Absolute bliss! She also incorporated a badly needed shoulder massage which had been giving me gip over the last week.
Been dozy the rest of the afternoon so have been taking it easy in the recliner.
Hope @Busy-Lizzie has a good journey to Norfolk and @coccinella's journey to the UK is okay next week.
We've still got a few bits and bobs of Xmas goodies to eat up but I was glad to have our SM delivery yesterday.
Thanks for the boost @coccinella, 'stay strong' is a little bit of motivation I need. Hope the weather improves for you by the time you get back from the UK, and hopefully your trip will give you a boost too. Sad about your FIL, hopefully your visit will cheer him up too. How did you end up in Luxembourg? I have a friend that lives and works there, she is in banking and that seems to be the banking headquarters of Europe. She absolutely loves it.
My accountant continues to bombard me with requests for receipts/explanations of financial transactions. It's exhausting trying to find everything/explain to her. For example, I bought a Dyson which was over 500€ so I paid it in 4 interest free payments. Of course, the total receipt doesn't tie in to the monthly payments, and of course, the people who took the instalments have a different name that the company I bought the Dyson from....it's all there, she just doesn't seem capable of joining the dots. On one receipt the '1' from 138.40€ wasn't easy to read, especially after it had been scanned. I had written a cheque for that amount, and she sent me the receipt back asking how the 38.40€ was paid. All very time consuming. I've only written about 8 cheques all year, you would think she could work it out...
The irony is, she is trying to prove to my bank that I can afford the (very small) mortgage, and I am so busy I haven't got enough time to find all these silly anomalies. As @coccinella says though, I am staying strong, working my way though all the queries, and in the end, if it it gets the bank to say yes, then it will all be worth it. Timing is all wrong really, that's the main problem, I am 11 months into my financial year, if it was a month in advance, all these figures would have been signed off and be there for all to see.
Long week ahead too, my main waitress has flown back to the UK to a funeral, we are so busy and of course we are now very thin on the ground without students at this time of the year, I am filling in lots of gaps, cook, waitress, washer-upper-er, with The Lions Club meeting last night I was here working until 1am in the morning and I have to start now and it will be at least 7pm until I get out of here... not much time with Charlie this week-end either. Who said January was quiet? Biggest problem is, all other restaurants shut at this time of year so there's nowhere else for people to go. All good, but I wish we just had a couple more staff.
Anyway, end of my long rant, apologies all, Have a good day and I hope all those wilt aches, pains and ails see some improvement. Nearly spring...:)

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ 🤞 @D0rdogne_Damsel … as you say, it’ll all be worth it 😎 and the days are already feeling just a little bit brighter for a little bit longer.
Sitting here with my coffee and delighting in Radio 3s wonderful offerings this morning …

I hope you've all been good and La Bifana won't leave coal instead of sweets in your stocking!
Another sunny warm day. The mercury hit 20°C yesterday afternoon. Crazy!!

We stayed with friends last night. They took us out to dinner in a nice pub, but my helping was huge, couldn't finish it.
We are off to Norfolk later today. Our cottage will be cold but it has efficient heating.
