With the amount that has continued to pour down @Ladybird4, we're gonna need a bigger boat!
Was out earlier draining the water butt so it can continue to accept the rainwater hammering down onto the shed roof. Managed to snap a couple of bits off the tap, so it is now incredibly hard to turn the remaining stub of plastic on and off Another little job to add to the growing list...
I'm waiting on a phone call about a potential job. I was told to expect a phone call this week. I reckon that I'll start the day that spring arrives to stop me getting through all the outside jobs that need doing. Until then it will rain non-stop!
Good afternoon all. I've been pottering around inside all day. Received some new cacti this morning so I've been researching them online. Spoke with Jack and some of the lights I had seen outside Jack's neighbour's yesterday morning belonged to the Fire Brigade. Phil, Jack's neighbour was in agony (apparently) and had locked himself in the bedroom somehow and the paramedics could not get the door open so sent for the Fire Brigade and they cut through the bedroom door. Phil was taken off to hosp[ital and that is all that we know so far. Does not sound too good though.
Debs, that job sounds just perfect for your fiancé. Love the idea of having a gym there he can use.
Yes indeed T'Bird. You are the only person I know who is titchier than me! They don't make diamonds like bricks eh?
Oh my goodness, I did warn about waking up the paint monster! Too late now.
Red maple, my perching up ladders to do the stairwell are long gone too.

@Biglad it seems an age ago that you were busy busy busy but I reckon you have got it right - sod's law. Just when the weather gets better you'll have a big fat job to sort out.

Evening all. Didn’t wake until the afternoon and I’ve had something hot to eat and the last of the Christmas cake, rather a chunky slice, and extra mature cheddar. The prickly sweats seem to have abated and looking more human, a touch of blush and some hot tea. Sorted my furry friend our and he has plenty of food and fresh cold water and his treats and lots of stroking, bless him. Ante hope you’ll manage your snow walk with Max and hope you had a better day. Top bird you did very well with your painting and good to have hubbys help. Hazel very wise to wait for warmer days. LB good idea to stay indoors and hope the weather soon improves and that Jack is okay. Enjoy your evening all. Debs great that your fiancé is enjoying his role. Just resting on the bed after tea.
Rosie, it's good to hear you've had a good long sleep, perhaps you've managed to sleep out the worst of the sweats etc and may start, now, to really feel better. Alfie is certainly getting lots of love and attention, he will love it. LB, Im pleased to hear Jack is ok but what a shame about his neighbour, . I wonder if he fell and knocked something against the door? I do hope hope he's ok whatever has happened. Ive sorted out 23's toy box today, what a lot of stuff was in it that he doesn't play with now. I won't dispose of them though , as sod's law, he would ask after them afterwards. Also cleared and tidied up the sideboard cupboard which houses all his drawing pens and books so we can at least see what's inside it now. Its been raining all day here too with a cold wind so nothing done outside....except run to the bin and back again!
It's still dark outside, but I can see clear sky. Very cold morning, only 2℃. Today should arrive delivery with pets food and seeds from one GC. I must apologize for my irregular writing and reading, but just need some time to adopt on my new/old routine. Many people think that winter is time when we do nothing in the garden or on land. Quite opposite, it's very busy time with planning, ordering seeds and plants, preparing soil for spring and many other things.
Now is time for tea and soon I'll go out. Wish you all nice and warm day.
Hello there Ante and all still to arrive. No need to apologise Ante. Most of us have the luxury of having finished our working lives so can drop in here more frequently. We do understand for the workers that this is more of a challenge. You will be very busy planning your new growing season - thinking about what did well and what wasn't quite so successful. I assume that you rotate your crops too so that also has to be factored in. Then there is your teaching job. Such a lot for you to 'juggle' with. I have much admiration for you!
